I don't ever remember going to mexico (who does, yay beer), but I found this picture of me with some random mexican in mexico.

I'm normally a white seabass, but i got a tan down there.

Looks real to me. Look at the blood on the rope at the tail section. Not an uncommon fish really. Maybe now, but the photo looks alittle older. Maybe back int he 70's from the look at the tackle, and rod.
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

There was a fellow a few years ago that shot one while in SCUBA with one of those underway thingy's with the a line...anyway, the grouper dove, unfortunately the divers ankle was wrapped in the line and they never saw him again.  The hunter became the prey.

when I was young we used to spear them while free diving.  the key was a long lead of 1/4" nylon line.  once the beast was speared you shot to the surface and hooked up the 1/4" line to additional 1/4" line which was secured to our truck tire inner tube(s).  you were still in for a several hour drag to who knows where.

I cringe at what we did as kids.

you don't see many that big anymore, at least I haven't in over fifteen years.
