Homosexuals deserve to be treated as equals just like everyone else. Once you start discriminating against one, it is really easy to start descriminating against others. Nazi Germany can tell you all about that.
!

And I'm sorry, I meant to ask, how exactly are they being discriminated against?  Because they're being required to follow the rule of law & not marry?

HOW exactly (list them... ANYONE) are they being discriminated against?

Period.  It's not a "label" that gets me in a tizzy.  It's the fact that whining sniveling queers think that "but... but... but... I want the same thing as they have" (pointing their queer little fingers over to the side of the room as the straight couples).

Get over it.  You don't get the privileges afforded to a married couple until you are MAN AND WIFE.

*edit* I'm not going to respond to the religious remarks you posted.  Once you start mixing the two the entire discussion takes a nosedive.

Texas Mom,
Your view point is biased and based upon a discriminatory base. I feel I have not made my point well enough here so let me try this.
In Chicago they have a "Gay Pride Parade" every year. I do not support it!
Why? Because it is discriminatory! It is a parade for a select group of people celebrating their sexual orientation in a blatant disrespectfull fasion.
It is inappropriate and wrong in so many ways. What would happen if Chicago had a Heterosexual pride parade? The Lawyers would be falling out of windows to jump on that one. The religion thing was not out of disrespect. I respect all religions! Just don't tell me your better because, My God is better then your God because blah, blah, blah. I have no time for it.

Thats easy. Because the way the current laws are written their is a biased distinction between being "married" and a civil union. Their is a whole list of things afford a married Man and Woman couple, that two people of the same sex are not allowed.

p.s (don't take this so personally it is not meant to be, it is just open debate of opposing view points) !

My view point is not biased or discriminatory.

The Gay Pride Parade?  That's fine ~ let them proudly march in the streets.  Fine ~ that's all well & good.  And why not support that?  They are proud of who they are.   Just like any other group in a parade ~ why do you think they separate into groups in a larger parade ~ so they can be identified as being together.  What's the matter with that?

Oh... I get it...  You don't like it because EVERYONE isn't allowed in it... it's just for the queers.  Look, this sounds like the "bread & jam for francis" syndrome again.  It doesn't come out even for everyone.  Period.  We don't regulate in taking from the rich (who the riches rightfully belong to) and give to the poor (while many of them do that on their own... we don't require it as a society...).  We let people fail or succeed on their own ~ and we let queers join their lives together with the understanding that THEY WON'T BE GETTING MARRIED.

And where did you gather that I felt you were disrespectful toward my religion?  All I said is that I wasn't going to use any religious remarks in any of my responses.  What I do or do not happen to believe (in a religious context) is entirely separate from the fact that until a queer couple are able to become MAN AND WIFE, they won't be getting married.  Period. MAN AND WIFE.

So let me see if I reckon this right:  They're being discriminated against because our society won't change the current laws to accomodate their feelings of wishing to be joined in marriage the same as a MAN and a WOMAN?

I'm sorry Uber, I believe you are a fine fellow , and I believe that your intentions here towards homosexuals are decent and kind.  However, a desire "to be nice" isn't a good enough reason to change the law to accomodate their wish to be joined in marriage.

Is that the discrimination that you are talking about? That they can't marry?  I'm sorry, that's not a good enough answer.  They're being required to follow the rule of law.  period.  If you want to demonstrate how they are being discriminated against, you're going to have to provide something more than that.

I'm not trying to impose my beliefs on anyone Leadpig.  The simple fact is that a man and another man are not afforded the same rights under the rule of law as a man and a woman.

My personal lack of politically correct terms doesn't make my point any less valid, other than you think I'm a tasteless pig.  Insert "persons of another sexual orientation" into all of those same remarks ~ the point is still the same.

If you want to be married and be afforded the same rights under the rule of law, you must be man and wife.

Oh, and what's with the parade remark?  I clearly stated that I don't object to them marching in a parade.

And if one of my kids ends up gay, that's fine.  I've raised them well enough to know that they must follow the rule of law ~ and they won't expect to be afforded the same privileges as a MAN and WIFE.

Is there some kind of confusion here?  I don't object to folks being queer (yes, I'm being politically incorrect again using "queer") How they want to have sex is entirely their own business...

What I object to is that they expect to have the same privileges afforded to MAN and WIFE.

Oh ... another thing.... Get this just because something is a law doesn't make it right.  Slavery was a law, women couldn't vote, that was a law.
Obviously those laws weren't right. Stop imposing your will and what you think is right on other people. Your opinion on whether it's right are not doesn't matter. I'm not crazy about the whole gay thing either. But get this...nobody in this world should be looked, down on, called names (as you did) or discriminated against by anybody for any reason ever.

I'd like to see you call your kids those names if they were gay, or tell them to their face what you said earlier. Go somewhere and buy a big plate of empathy.

Yes, you are correct. Slavery was wrong, women should vote, and those improper laws were changed, as they should have been.

LOL ~ I'm not imposing "my will" or "what I think is right" on anyone.  Fact is, until they can be MAN and WIFE, they can do whatever they want in their twisted sexual orientation... without the same privileges as MAN and WIFE

I already replied to the remark about my kids being gay ~ how many times are you going to repeat that? You'll get the same answer every time.  They'll have been raised well enough to know that if they want to be studmuffinots, they won't expect to be afforded the same privileges as a MAN and WIFE.  I won't repeat that again though, no matter how many times you say you wish my kids end up gay.  Twice is now probably enough for you to understand that I meant it.
