I've always had a thing for the Yak-9T. I like the challenge of only having 32 rounds of 37mm to use. I call it my aerial ack-gun. It keeps me in the practice of being conservative with my ammo. And when you land hits on your opponent, the eye candy is wonderful.;) :aok :D

I have to say I love all my spitfire's equally. Just love how they they fly, you can rely on them in a turn fight, and you need some skill to fly it 'cause 2 20mm will take it's wings off. I also enjoy its history through the "Battle of Britain". If it wasn't for the spitfire the hurricane wouldn't have been able to do its job, and without the hurricane Britain would have lost the Battle of Britain.

I also like the P-47's and P-51's....just not as much :)

FW190A series. A wonderful combination of brutality and sleekness.

Efficiently hampers my dogfighting skills from improving and at the same time keeps my commitment level to this game at appropriate level.

IT always depends on my mood....but..

P-51, Tempest, Seafire, P-38......   I am sure these would show my top 4 rides in terms of time on AH.

All the F4U's with a preference for the 1A, it's a challenging plane & fun to fly.

I will then take as a second ride the 51 when I'm tired getting killed in the above mentioned :D

Glad to see they're making progress. When I was there a couple of years ago all they had was the center fusalage and not much of that. Great read.

For myself I prefer the Hurri MK1, it can be outrun by practically anything out there, but when you pull them into you, then remove their wing with the 8 303's, you get the satisfaction of a kill you had to work for. Course for base defense with multiple cons on those occasions I can fly anymore I'll up a IIC.

Archaius rides the 109 K4

It is such a beautiful aircraft.... Clean lines while still retaining that air of brutality.

No engine can compare to the sound of the late war 109's either... It's all about that supercharger whine and DB roar.

As far as its in-game attributes go, it packs tons of speed and a marvelous climb rate, which is useful in the MA.

It also suits the way I fight, I like to fight in the verticle with the enemy trailing just out of reach for a guns solution on me.... then dumping flaps and rolling back on them.

The 30mm cannon is a work of art. Landing hits from 800 never fails to make me laugh.

I hate spraying ammo around (can't stand .50cal) and I love to get right in close with 1 or two well-placed rounds.

I love the way the 109s handle... all of their little ins and outs... Definitely the most enjoyable plane in the game for me.

Been flying the Typhoon almost exclusivley for the last couple of tours.

Its a pretty good "jack of all trades"

Great ground attack platform and a pretty good fighter too.

My 4  favorite things about it are: Its damn fast at the right altitudes and--
Hispanos,Hispanos,Hispanos!!

The worst 3 things about it are: Roll rate,Roll rate,Roll rate.

Mosquito FB.Mk VI.

Love the history of the men and aircraft who fought in WWII, the variety of missions it was tasked with and could accomplish.  It is also a very pretty aircraft.

The Spitfire Mk XIV is beautifully aggressive, but the Spitfire Mk VIII just feels right and is also great looking.

The 109 series is my personal favourite.  The 109f-4 and g-2 are great dogfighters and hold their own against most planes in-game.  The F4U's and Typhoon are also some of my favourites.

The FM2 is the only plane I'm really comfortable in. It's hard to catch anything in the LW arenas with it. You have to wait for a snapshot.

I like the Yak 9T for the 37mm sniper cannon and it's fun to fly.

I'm trying to get better in the P47 series but it's frustrating that most of the battles occur at low altitudes where the P47 is weak.

I guess the main theme on my favorite planes is that they are tough and take a lot of punishment.  I tend to be a good target.

Cheers,

Thanks Guppy for the link.  I looked at every picture for hours.  Its such an amazing design and its good to see someone is taking the time to bring her back.  (Cue P-61 Plug:aok)  Now if we could get enough support to bring the P-61 to AHII.  Please fine flyers let HTC know we need a Black Widow.  (End P-61 Plug:aok)  Execllent Thread Freezman
