I absolutely, positively cannot STAND it when people run away, or worse yet, HO THEN run.
Couple days ago a C-Hog was taking down a town. It was early morning & not many people on. I up a spit and proceed to engage. He goes for the HO, I immel at 1.0 and am rewarded with a nice trailing position. What happens next ... you guessed it, C-Hog goes to warp.
About a hour later the same base starts flashing. So I up again. This time in an LA7, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Again the Chog goes for the HO, again I counter with a simple immel, AGAIN the Chog dives for the deck and bugs out. But this time I got the little bugger and gave him a quick trip to the tower.
This morning I engaged a tempest, we turned for a bit and just before I got in a position to bring guns to bear he heads for the deck and WEPs out of there. I chased for a sector or so and he didnt turn around till he managed to find 2 or 3 of his buddies who decided I had too many wings on my plane and do a bit of redesign.
I was about 12-14k when I saw a mustang 4.0 out, we merge cleanly & proceed to mix it up. Once again as I start to get angles on him he dives to the deck & heads for friendlies. I manage to get 800 out when I see a high P38 at 2 o'clock and diving. I cant catch the runstang so turn for the P-38. After a couple turns with the lightning I hear a couple pings and there is the mustang, all brave and stuff. I turn around with him a bit but the P-38 decided I had too much fuel and put a hole in my fuel tank. So leaking fuel, 50 rounds left and 5 kills I figure I might as well head home. No one pursued so I dont count this as 'running'.
These are the reasons I fly the LA- 7. Call me a dweeb, but at least I aint a rundweeb.
