You guys think this is a scam?
« on: September 26, 2007, 04:03:39 AM »
I got this in my email, haven't seen anything like this before. I think a couple things cause red flags to go up.

1) A company that can't open accounts in foreign banks? Since when?

2) Deposit money into my bank account (probably checks) then withdraw all but 10% which I keep as payment for my services. (Stinks of possible money laundering to me)

I used to know a website that specialized in posting various scams but I can't recall what the name of it is.

Here is the email in it's entirety.

Mensaje:         Hello,
My name is Emily Andenson and I'm the C.E.O of Interface Fabrics Limited,We'd like to offer you additional earnings $2000 - $8000 per month. It's easy and will not take a lot of time. No costs, No Investments, Work Part Time or Full Time . Up to $2000 Part Time and $8000 Full Time. Work from Home with a Business Opportunity that no job could ever offer. Use your own computer to make money and make a CAREER as your own boss.
I would like to know if you are interested. Work will consist of receiving of the payments from our clients in USA and Canada . All you would be doing is receiving these payments that would come to you via the mail system in your country, have them cashed and remit the rest to the company. The company be willing to pay you 10% of whatever payment you process. These payments would come in different forms.
We are always facing serious difficulties when it comes to selling our products to Americans; they are always offering to pay with Different Modes, which are difficult for the company to cash here in the UK. Because of a hold of almost three weeks that would be placed on them before they clears the banks here in the UK. Unfortunately we can't open bank accounts in all the countries we work with and because of that we seek for a representative/bookkeeper in USA and Canada

Respond only if you will like to work from home part-time/full time and get paid weekly without leaving or it affecting your present job. (PAY IS GOOD)

SCAM!

EDIT: Tel: 01924 491591 is the phone number to Interface Fabrics.

Scam.

The minute I see a Yahoo address I delete this junk.  I had one yesterday asking about company formation in Bermuda and web hosting facilities.  The email went on to ask for confirmation that there are no regulatory requirements for companies or websites.

It wasn't a scam per se, but obviously someone who has done, or wants to do, something either illegal or very close to being illegal.  I deleted it but one of my partners responded asking for all kinds of information before we could act.

Waste of time and effort.

If I recall correctly, the scam is that they give you a forged cashiers check or money order (through a third party).  Your bank will make the funds available well before the check is discovered to not be legit.  You wire them the money and when the bank finds out the check was bad, you are responsible for the funds you sent out of country.
