The thread is about new guys getting good fast. My point was if they/we/you fly enough hours then your going to get good. Its like that with real airplanes and its like that with cartoon ones.

I agree with Ghost that the really, really good sticks dont need to talk. And almost to the one I have found them all to be gentleman.

The TA is where Ive made gains with my gunning. I think the TA is a great arena. Also I think a new guy, and I speak as one, has to be unafraid to try new things and willing to make mistakes. Which are learned from. Also, I believe, you have to be willing to listen to the senior sticks and trainers.

I want in.

I've been playing this game since early December last year. I don't know if I'm considered a "new" player, maybe you guys should decide. My original name was 24477, I changed it in April to TwentyFo.

Estes...I think you may be refferring to my squadmate "INexx" of The LYNCHMOB OUTLAWS. He is a great pilot, although I have no idea how long he has played. Ill run it past him.

Two, three years ago it was a little different than it seems to be now. From my perspective, there are a few who call themselves the "big dogs", one being yourself. Rather back then, the "big dogs" never called themselvs that. Sure they knew it, but so did everyone else. ;)

Back 5-6 years ago, sure. If you would consider asking questions about the basics of what was a relativly newer game still, on channel 1, "leg humping". But, I personaly will not classify that as leg humping in my book.

class? This is not wimbelton, bro. I enjoy all the different types of attitudes and mentalities. I would probably not enjoy this game at all if everyone went around acting like herbert milktoast at a Captain n Tennille concert! "Oh pardon me sir, , I am sorry for using up your cannon rounds with my fuselage, I hope my debris didn't damage your engine"

Class and attitude don't always go hand in hand. Although there is a fine line to draw between the two. No you dont need to someone everytime. But 'ing or the like, each time you are shot down, no class.  But its the people who throw all sence of class and good nature out the window in place of the constant insults about how lucky I was to shoot someone down in a given situationthat have become more numerous than those who will just sit there take it like a man, and possibly learn a thing or two while shutting up. Ego can be a real hurdle in this game as far as learning curve is concerned.

I know talking to you is like trying to drive a finish nail into concrete. (why bother, I dont know.)

Since the criteria for nomination see a bit flexible, I'll offer this one in my own squad.

We all know scores are problematical at best for determining skill, but if you know if a guy plays it straight up, it can be an indicator of skill growth.

Bmathis has been a member of my squad since his start, and I, among others, helped show him the ropes.  He absorbed everything and quickly outpaced any training.  His skill progress has been phenomenal, IMO.

He's a month away from reaching 1 year, but check out his numbers and successes from the beginning.  Also, he plays the whole game (Vehicle, Bombers, Attack), not just planes, which are his forte'.

As further evidence of exceptional flying skill, he is the AH Extreme Racing League for Season 8, and as of tonight (it's already locked point-wise), he'll be the Season 9 Champion as well.  By a good margin.  Nobody flies an airplane as smoothly or as fast as he does, consistantly.

As for the game itself, I've never seen him backdown or hesitate to mix it up with anyone, help a countryman or squaddie, or go in against most any numbers if the mission called for it.  He doesn't sip milk or pull any shenanagins, he's just a natural pilot.
