Tired of occasionally encountering a vet when flying against bish/rook/nit? Looking for a front with guaranteed easy targets? ;)

But seriously... what purpose would that serve?

What a horrible idea.  Had a few bad experiences?  You really should qualify why you think this is a good idea, otherwise it comes off as a bit of a whine.  How is someone like myself (a 4 tour recovering newb) supposed to learn from better pilots?  The TA is great, but in the end, watching & participating with and against better pilots makes all the difference in the world.

No.  No need.  You can always choose what team you want to be on.  You're never stuck with one. Country channel also helps with questions/learning.

I don't think a separate team is a good idea,  I can imagine the sharks circling now.

But....

A Kiddie Pool Arena would be good for newcomers.  Help ease the transition.

Now how do you keep the Vets from sneaking in?  K/D ratio.  If it gets too high, you are pushed out of the nest.  Gently, with a graduation ceremony or something.

                             Oh boy, another Red Baron.:D

After the turn of the century
In the clear blue skies over Germany
Came a roar and a thunder men had never heard
Like the scream and the sound of a big war bird

Up in the sky, a man in a plane
Baron von Richthofen was his name
Eighty men tried, and eighty men died
Now they're buried together on the countryside

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

In the nick of time, a hero arose
A funny-looking dog with a big black nose
He flew into the sky to seek revenge
But the Baron shot him down - "Curses, foiled again!"

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

Now, Snoopy had sworn that he'd get that man
So he asked the Great Pumpkin for a new battle plan
He challenged the German to a real dogfight
While the Baron was laughing, he got him in his sight

That Bloody Red Baron was in a fix
He'd tried everything, but he'd run out of tricks
Snoopy fired once, and he fired twice
And that Bloody Red Baron went spinning out of sight

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany

Ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty or more
The Bloody Red Baron was rollin' up the score
Eighty men died tryin' to end that spree
of the Bloody Red Baron of Germany
"flying the aircraft of the Red Star"

Air Warrior used to have something like that.  You could stay there until you scored like 10,000 points or something, then you were booted to the MA's.

Yup.  Probably it would have been a good idea to lower the mandatory departure threshold, but the arena was a fine place for brand-new people to get some practice flying and shooting.  I don't see any downside.

And I do not see any benefit.

You learn from better sticks you fly with and fly against.
A noob arena could probably reinforce more bad habits (or what the community considers as such), and teach less than a combination of (voluntary) TA and MA/SEA/AVA flying with & against veteran players.

I have seen such a request for a beginners arena from time to time, and more often than not I had the feeling that this idea emerged from a kind of fake "elite" feeling - not unlike the requests for a "Veteran Arena". "N00bs annoy me, please keep 'em away"

Just my two cents
