Interesting. The Wisconsin AG has stated that the off duty Deputy shot himself THREE TIMES in the HEAD after being shot in the left arm from a distance. Twice under the chin and once in the right side of the head, all at close range. :O

Interesting that the authorities seem unable to say whether or not the AR-15 was issued to him by his department, legally purchased/owned by the shooter or just exactly where he got it.

I'd think the department has serial numbers recorded for all their AR's. How long does it take to check the list?

probly has a "property of" stamp right on it.

I just shot an m16 owned by the sheriffs dept.   the rangemaster asked me if I wanted to shoot it.   Had "property of..." stamped right into it.

oh...ripley.. you need to read about the wild west... It was a pretty nice place to live.

Almost every shooting was by mutual consent... pretty much self defense and.. there were relatively few of those compared to say DC where there are gun bans.

again tho... charon hits it on the head... a few people got shot by a nut... no big deal in such a large country.   Glad he didn't do some simple research on how to build a bomb or ... just decide to use his car for a murder weapon.

If the agency didn't bother to screen the deputy, there is no reason to think they are any more competent regarding weapon records.
