Sceanrios are amazing, often in the little places that wouldn't seem to matter.
In one practice frame, turnout was low enough that my unit got tagged with ASW/Detch's. He had us spawn from the hangar, then use the taxiways to line up on the runway, without running into other planes (even though friendly collisoins were off). Then, we took off in turns, in two ship elements, and formed up in correct positions off the leader.
MAN! I ahve never had such an immersive experience! All those engines, the planes weaving from side to side to keep vis on the taxiway, waiting for my turn to launch, Punching the throttle with ASW to my left....I've never felt as much imaginary deja vu.
Sounds corny, but it gave me shivers feeling jsut a fraction of what it must have been like, and even some butterflies in the stomach about what was to come.
You just CAN"T get that in MA. So yeah, scenarios are worth it, even when the "points" don't go the way you want. Whether you're into the long periods of boredom with high cover, or the sheer terror of diving a 190 into a cloud of enemies hoping to get a buff down before screaming through the pack...there's nothing like it.
