I can name.... 1... 2... 3...
But I wouldn't mind this being in the next update. Very important fighter. First all metal low wing monoplane with retractable gear. Made up most of the VVS at the beginning of the war.
As far as EW fighters I would like this, the CR. 42, the Ki43 and the Yak 1.
While quite innovative, the I-16 wasn't all-metal, it was of mixed wood, steel tube and aluminum construction. It was the first production cantilever monoplane fighter with retractable landing gear. Most other major nations were flying biplanes (some with retractable gear) or fixed gear monoplanes. Some of those biplanes were nearly as fast as the I-16 when it was first introduced. By 1936, the rest of the major powers had not only caught up, but had surpassed the I-16 in performance or in potential. By the end of 1936, the Spitfire and Hurricane prototypes had flown. Germany was flying prototypes of the Bf 109 and He 112. Curtiss had flown the H75 (prototype that evolved into the P-36, then P-40), Seversky was the flying the SEV-1XP (evolved into the P-35, AP-4 and P-43). By 1938, the I-16 was well on its way to obsolescence.
So, while very advanced for its time, its time was rather short.
All of that aside, it was the Soviet's primary fighter for the first year of their war with Germany. 20,000+ were built, placing among the top most produced fighters. Therefore, it should be added to the game, if for no other reason, for its historical importance.
