Just got back from Nebraska bowhunting whitetails. I didn't punch a tag but my I had blast helping my brother get his first.

I've been flinging arrows for many years all over North America. Started with a recurve, dabbled with compounds in the late 80's and went back to traditional after a couple years.

Major addiction to say the least. I work in the archery industry as well, so I'm a lost cause!

That was a murderer controlling the human population.

They normally do that in more populated areas, but hey, crime knows no bounds, right?

I do it from a helicopter. My mate has a beaut red MD500 and I hang out the side of it. Bagged a platypus from 120 yards the other day.

Isn't it interesting how city folks have put their survival and hunting instincts to sleep, and want to do the same for the rest of us.

There is an instinctual 'need' to hunt. Our ancestors have been hunters from the instant they crawled down out of the trees and started to walk upright.

Don't believe me? Then tell me why the first reaction a human has when they spot a wild animal is to get closer. Trust me, petting something is not a survival instinct. It'll get you killed.

Hunting is natural. Hunting by humans is no more evil than that done by the great cats, wolves, and other premiere predators of the wild.

To be honest, I never saw the attraction in bow hunting. Give me a rifle any day of the week.

If you want to play the "it's the primative way to hunt" card, why aren't you out there with a stick and a rock?

If we (archers) have to explain you wouldnt understand. There is something to be said for being able to get an animal within 30 yards or less (ranges differ according to surroundings), holding full draw for that quartering away shot, and then letting the arrow fly.

To each his own though. RPM just keep in mind that if you gave archery a good serious fair shake, you may end up selling alot of your hunting rifles or at least not being in such a rush to dust them off when the season hits.
