I've been having problems where I am consistently warping every time I try to play and am not sure what steps to take. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP. I ran PingPlotter last night and posted the results below:

You shouldn't be pinging http://www.hitechcreations.com you should ping the game server.  I believe it is (206.16.60.37), the www address just pings the main site and not the game and that is where you ultimately have to look.

That lap top isn't the strongest thing around.

Donkeys comments on that other thread...

Have him go to control panel, performance/maintenance, power options, and set it to home/office desktop, and NOT energy star.

Should fix it.

will help, but you should post your game settings. You might be pushing your system too hard, and the warp is it trying to catch up.

Thanks for the replies guys, I redid the pingplotter as shown below. I might rerun it during primetime hours. Also, when I warp everyone else can see me warp. Here are some other things I've been considering.

When i load windows I have a little over 20 processes going. But once McAfee loads, my processes jump to 40+. I've tried to disable it from loading in msconfig, but it still loads anyway when i start my computer. I've run virus scan, adaware and spybot. I have a creative Audigy soundcard.
My other specs are 1.6 Ghz processor, just upgraded to 1GB of Ram, video card is Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS,910MK Express. The only thing i can upgrade to is a 128 mb x300 video card and am not sure it's worth the money.

I have an Inspiron 9400, it loads 49 processes.....and just sitting at idle it is having large swings in the cpu usage..up to 51% on the task manager viewer ( ctrl-alt-del )

I use XPGamer batchfile and cut it down to 19 processes and it will play DVDs smoothly with out skips, will cut the CPU usage down to 2 to 3 % at idle..( this turning off antivirus programs, printer programs, bunch of factory installed preloaded BLOATWARE, MySQL and my company dedicated server files, the bluetooth and Intel wireless /wifi programs etc...... plug it in and use AC power pac

your video chipset is not very good for Aces High2,  the upgrade to the x300 is wwell worth it for AcesHigh, but what reason can you not go for a better mobility  ATI card? you say you can only upgrade to the X300? why you think this?

your laptop comes with a X16 PCI-E  slot...... you can install a few different type cards and are not limited from my experience......

NOTE* I am not recommending or saying to use a batchfile like I do, I have to because I need to revert back to my work Laptop settings when I plug into the server at work.......have to synchronize files and stuff......

am saying turn off all that bloatware to lower cpu usage at idle.........

Hi Tequila Chaser, I was browsing other forums and heard others say that the x300 is the only card that will actually fit in my laptop. I didn't know it was possible to upgrade to another video card. Do you have specifics on certain cards that are compatible? Also, how do you go about turning off the bloatware? -Thanks for the info, Chris

all depends on how much space is available inside the laptop- best to call DELL and ask what options you have

some suggestions: different 128M or 256MB ATI Mobility  Radeon  X000 / X0000 series

or   128M or 256MB NVIDIA  GeForce  Go 0000M GS   series ( 6800 thru 8600 series )

what will hold you back from installing certian models is limited space in laptop, videocard size.........

BLOATWARE - turning it off is harder than uninstalling un-needed or unwanted programs........

usually is trial and error on the turning off processes......alot of people use hijackthis and use help sites like Black Viper

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

Silat is a guru at doing this stuff, as well.  you can find him here on the AH boards........

lot of it has to do with  MS active Sync and MySQL server programs running, is all redundant ......when I am not tied into the main server at work it is running lots of offline files.........

is why I use the batchfile to knock it down to where I can actually work or do my own thing outside of work, but the 2 to 4 %  is still the offline files usage......everything I do ro make or save when not tied into the company server is doubled up and saved for sync, for when I do log back in and plug into the company server at work
