Too bad you're still in school and haven't learned a thing about respect or showing any class.

could also indicate that nations with less gun ownership have higher chances of crime per capita.

By this graph alone, it indicates that Australians (with some of the strictest gun control in the world) are three times more likely to be the victims of a burglars than in the US. Almost two times as likely to be a victim in the UK as well.

Arguing gun control with any one from another country is pointless.  They have no right to tell you how to do it in your country, and we have no right on how to tell them to do it in theirs....

BTW, Hi again Beatle.

Hi bodhi - when are we going to have that beer?

But as for "in the service of one's country", I think a lot of brave young servicemen are duped into believing that, as they go to work earning brownie points for the politicians back home.

We really do have some high quality Americans who are patriotic enough to serve in our current military.  I had the chance to meet one of these guys when I was taking a nondestructive testing course in Texas a few weeks ago.  He was a black guy, about 24 years old, sharp as a whip, and looked like Wesley Snipes.  He had left a job in nondestructive testing making $30/hr to fight in Iraq.

So its not just the poor country bumpkins, or inner city youth that is in our military.  We have some real bright and talented dudes over there.
