Greetings,

I dunno.  I kinda like bobbing to EW so I can and fly about in the Bf 110C model.  That's pretty much suicide in the LW.

Regards,

Why?  The MW arena has the best plane match ups of any of the arenas.

Or you want to get rid of them because you can no longer score potato in either of those arenas or don't have the hord to run to for safety?

i liked the new system but then again i made the leader board
and that is what i wanted to do ! now i can fly late war like a crazy person  then go to mid or early and do a more safe (score potato) mission. i did not fly early at all this time tho and i do think it suffered (not just cause i wasnt there LOL)!! in mid and early you will find some of the best sticks in the game and that makes it hard to keep a good score there!
Anyway SALUTE  to all and CONGRATS, to those who made the board!!:aok
Flying since tour 71.

I'm with ack ack, you seemed to get better fights in the MW arena. Hard to find people in there though. On the brighter side, I did manage to make it close to the top 100 in MW fighter (what else is there) with a big O in EW. No one bothers with ew any more.

Maybe if they 1) filled out the EW planeset a bit and 2) went back to having EW planes only in the EW arenas, that would change.

I doubt 1) will have much impact, maybe just a little bit.
And I thoroughly oppose 2) because flying EW planes against LW hordes can be fun, especially for veteran players wich are looking for some kind of challenge.
Also there are very few people that would venture into EW only to able to fly their beloved P40B ;)

You will probably never see EW as popular as LW arenas, but a combined overall ranking (with scores still split) might help a bit getting some number back. And that would result even in more air combat opposed to pure bombing & base grabbing we once had.

You are probably right.  On the other hand, if the arenas were truly separate and distinct in terms of plane sets / match ups, there would be more reason for people to move around to chase variety.

Which is to say, there is no reason to fly a 109E in the EW arena when you can fly it in the LW arena where there are more targets.  There is a reason to go to the EW arena if it is the only place to experience a 109E vs. Hurri I vs. F4-F vs. whatever low speed turn fight.

I was originally on the side of keeping all the planes in the LW arenas, but I have since changed my mind.  I wonder if HTC had stuck to his guns a bit longer, and perhaps had some more EW offerrings to boot, if the distribution of players would be a little more balanced.

And it would be nice to see more balance, because right now, we have two MAs, and two sideshows (three if you count the AvA, which I adore BTW so keep your flames to yourself :p ).  I find that to be a shame.

Lusche,

Just a quick question.  What are the numbers in either the MW or EW arena when you fly.  Like I stated in my original post to this thread the max I have seen has been approximately 20 players and that is at peak US time.  Just curious because I agree that the plane match ups in those arenas can be a ton of fun, but with only a few players my time would be wasted searching for a fight.  When the arenas first split EW was awesome because there were about 150 to 200 people flying in there all the time.  I guess it was only a honeymoon period though.
