I have been flying this bird quite a bit for the past month.  I am developing a real fondness for it.

It has good legs (range), plenty of ammo, and acceptable agility.

What really makes it shine are the two cannon.  Most fighters receiving a few rounds lose critical parts and have a sudden end to controlled flight.

Its not uncommon to see it flown, but it doesn't seem to be among the most popular.  (If you Bish or Knights see a rook c2 in the evenings, good chance its me)

I think it an excellent plane in the big arenas.  But I think its especially good in the mid-war arena where some of the AH favorites aren't available.

Any other c2 lovers out there?

Any insights you could offer?

I tryed it for the first time last night and got two kills, in a good sized furball. I'll try and fly it more often now.

Cool bird.

It's similar to a 109G6 from what I can tell performance wise.  Doesn't turn quite as well, but hey, it's got a bunch-o-cannons.

About it's only downfall is it's pretty fragile.  I doesn't take many hits to get damage and almost any wing damage renders it unflyable.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I like to fly it quite a bit, even when ENY is low, but when it is high it really is a good choice.

It has a pretty decent climb, so hi-yoyos to turn quickly are a good idea, and can surprise more than some to turn around.

It doesn't turn into a lawn-dart at speed like all the 109s.

Best of all, it doesn't seem to scream "Hey, Look at me! Kill me first!" in a furball like the P-40 and the Typhoon seem to. In some other planes, enemy seem to latch on quickly and soon you've got a conga-line behind you. But it doesn't seem to happen that much to me when I'm in a c.205 (or for some reason, a Yak).

There are certainly worse choices to make.

When you fly with 100% fuel burn the wing tanks first, it seems to help with turning.

What the enemy thinks:

P-40: "I want to shoot Ben Affleck down...tally"

Typhoon: "Typhy drivers are all pickers...tally"

Yak: "Hmmm, maybe I'll let someone else see if it's a noob or someone dangerous before I engage, those things are tricky"

C205: "What the heck is that thing?  I flew it once and it didn't turn well, but they keep shredding me with snap shots... besides, was Italy really in the war?...better avoid for now"

205 is one of those planes you never know whether it's a spitdweeb trying to be different or someone good. For that reason I always give them a fair amount of respect.

I have been flying the C.205 almost exclusively since I started way back in Aces High, when I select a fighter plane.  Good ammo supply, decent speed, average turning abiltiy, and it climbs better than most.  The best thing about it, is that most enemy underestimate it and its pilot.  My hardest kills are when I fly against another C.205 pilot.  I would much rather face a P-51 or Spit 16.

The key to the C.205, like all planes, is to know its strenghts and weaknesses, and play to its strengths.  Also know the enemies strength and weaknesses and avoid their strengths and forcing them to their weaknesses.

That's true of most planes.  At least the speed part.  Not many non-perk planes faster than LaLa's.

C205 is certainly not a turn fighter.  That much is true allright.

205 is the bastige child of a 109F and a P38L

Fly it as such.
