The dora in particular is fairly competative with the "fast" La7 and P-51.

At 7-8k, and 14 to 22k altitude, it outclases both types in top speed, and accleleration.

Torque and P-factor will tend to cause the left wing to dip first when stall conditions are met, including when an accelerated stall is induced.

ahhh.... so you are saying that the PILOT is flawed as opposed to the flight model.

I get a kick out of terrible pilots that complain about F.M.'s when the REAL problem is they dont' have a clue what they are doing.

We see accuracy in them because they are done independently by players of the game.

I'm betting you'd get nearly the same results here.

Being suspicious of everyone makes for a person who trusts none and knows little.

I was answering your question.  You wanted to know why they were slow compared to the other planes and I just provided you with the reason why.  It's not my fault that you don't like hearing the truth.

Actually, I think it has everything to do w/ the topic.

A player blaming the game for their mistakes is quite common.

It's not the plane, it's the pilot.

The other night I was in the DA fighting a LA7 in a F4U1a.  They made b/z pass after b/z pass on me (all missing of course) and after each pass, I would gain some E, and they would lose a bit of E.

After 8ish passes I had brought our Energy to parity, or even had a touch of an E advantage (even tho' they were still b/z me).  On that pass, instead of my normal juke, I rolled it back into them and followed them up and killed them.

They FREAKED out on 200 saying how I cheated, and that the la7 climbs so much better than the F4U that there was no way I could catch them.

Just because THEY couldn't figure out how to do it doesn't mean it can't be done.

It wasn't the plane, it was the pilot.

Acceleration and climb rate are both results of excess thrust.  Compairing climb rates translates to compairing expected acceleration within the speed and altitude range the climb data was taken.
