Been Flying non typical aircraft
« on: November 22, 2007, 11:27:02 PM »
Ever since i switched my name, been gearing for perks flying the most unusal aircraft. Some ask why i go crazy getting perks its quite simple: I can fly entire tour on one aircraft and not worry bout perks running low.

Anyhow some non-typical aircraft ive been flying and had real success:

Mossy, P-40, Me-109g6, P-47-D40, Spit-5

Most these planes are flown VERY rarely dispite what people say, D40 is mostly used for ground attack, I prefer it over P47N because of the 5 eny.

If you wanta build perks quick and have a great high eny bird to do it, learn those planes.

Ive found the Mossi is quite able in a dogfight when it has 50% fuel loadout.    Good for ground attack too.

I love to GV and do Jabo missions vs GVs, get used to it.  Being good at one helps in the other.

You'd be better off in the G-2 than the G-6. The G-6 sucks. (Well, not really, but its pretty much the worst of the 109 family. Doesnt do much of anything well.)

well G-6 only because of the 13mm gun upgrade over 7.9 i know that doesn't say alot, but a 20mm alone is practically useless, I believe getting right up on someone and tapping trigger G-6 has been quite successful, engine wise its a disappointment.

As for mossy, I only take small gun package and 50% fuel regardless how far I fly. Someone asked me tonight if they should add Drop tanks, I told em forget it, thats like flying from your farthest base to the enemies HQ and still have fuel to get home.

lol

205 is a great bird, and 202 but the Gas is extremely horrible, 202 engine power is just as bad as the gas

The D-40 is a great bird.  The dive flaps can come in handy.  But the D-25 and D-11 can also be very effective in the LW arenas.  Keep your E up and try to extend when you can to grab more alt.

Another great perk farmer is the 109F.  IMO it's the best turner of all the 109's.  Just set the 7.9 mm guns a little closer.  I find that the only real issue is that you end up with a lot of assists.  Stay on their 6 and make sure you finish them off before dis-engaging.

109G-2 kicks 109G-6 arse.
P-47D25 best used for dogfighting outta the jug set.
Try spit 9, then spit 5.

And I think that's exactly the reason  why Adonai wrote "non-typical" aircraft - he's deliberately flying planes that are usually not recommended that often and... ehhmm yes, not typical for LW MA.  ;)
