B-17 info
« on: November 24, 2007, 03:00:32 PM »
Hi guys.  Does anyone know where I can find information about a particular B-17 that my cousin flew on during WWII?  The aircraft has a big #2839 on the fuselage in the picture of him and the rest of the crew and I just wanted to find out the names of the other crewmen and what happened to the plane.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

PS.  I'll post a pic of it when I get it scanned.

Seeing the picture would help.  If it's big numbers on the fuselage, not the tail, the photo was taken during training state side so it wasn't a combat bird.  The serial number on the tail should be more then 4 numbers however.

If you can post the photo, that would be great.

If you can come up with the birds tail number (usually 5-10 digits) that would help a ton.
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

It would also be helpful to know what bomb group he flew with.
