SAC is a subsidiary of China Aviation Industry Corporation I (AVIC I), which is a government-owned consortium of aircraft manufacturers.

This is the same Cessna LSA that your EAA fought so hard to get approved.
Now it's going to be built in China.

Was on a trip to a customer site in Manila last year. Saw tons of Chinese motorcycles which were extremely inexpensive and very nice looking.

People there said these motorcycles were extremely popular and well built.

people = Philippino working class. They don't make much money... not even the engineers... about $35K a year for a good engineer.

You can think Yups for the cost.
The solid backbone is still there like it always was.
Even with the high price, it is a good investment.
The only scoot you can buy new, ride 2/3 years and make a profit.
Along with the Deuce I bought last year , I have a `60 model.
Don`t see too many neese or Jap...or anything else around like that.
Friends have Knucks, Pans, Shovels.........all still cruising the black top.

I, for one , and they are many will welcome downsizing of H-D on manufacturing numbers.
S&S has shown Willie and H-D what can be done. (It`s still H-D, without the label, with 2x warranty when you build it yourself.)
Now H-D has seen partial light in this area and are partnering with companies such as S&S, Screaming Eagle , etc.
That`s a very good thing.
Screw the throwaway crap.
A guy I know was going to make a bundle selling Neese scooters.
When the crap started throwing rods, bearings, etc. like a grist mill he had more on his plate than he could eat.
Lost his proverbial rear end.

Sounds like he got his butt handed to him but I would advise not judging all Chinese motorcycle manufacturing companies and their offerings on your friends bad experiences. To underestimate them would be a mistake, IMV.

This is what I do. It is my life and has been for a looooong time.
Junk has been tried in any from or fashion imaginable in the scoot world in an effort to even come close to the H-D design and following. It has all failed miserably with the folks that have aircraft oil in their veins.
