Heres an idea. How about we get away from the NOE 110 base grabs and switch to high alt bomber missions. This gives the enemy a chance to defend, plus it would be more fun for both sides. Just boycott those low level missions and maybe they will start changing them.

Don't do that!

I absolutely love defending bases vs. enemy NOE's.

Never assume that just because you do not like it, everbody doesn't like it.

Personally I don't see what is wrong with NOE missions. Once you run one or two the other team is going to be expecting them.

With bomber missions, half the time no one ups to defend against them anyway. You can alert about a big DAR 20 mins before it hits the base and 9 times out of 10 only a handful of guys will up and defend.

Reason is mostly because no one wants to get gang-banged from high alt fighters that are surely to come with the bombers. At least defending against a NOE 110 mission you have a chance because the mission comes in at low alt, so it's a level playing field.

They can be fun - once, for a quick change of pace.  However, I don't participate often.

Flying NOE without breaking 200 ft AGL is fun, as it takes concentration and a certain amount of skill.

But being one of a swarm of 20+ planes popping NOE to take a base in under 3 minutes by virtue of overwhelming and unstoppable force is .... just not what I generally want to be much of a part of.

If you want to run more high alt missions, it's your dime, but to say it's easier to defend against, or more fun for us, is whack.

Hehe.  Defended a VB against one of these last night in an Osti.  4 kills (3 110's and an LA), all squaddies :lol

The problem here is that most people don't want to climb to 20K to defend against high alt bombers.  By the time you get up there they have dropped their ordinance anyway.  I very rarely am above 10K anyway so for me it wouldn't realy matter.  NOE missions are fun to bust though.

im usualy in the 15-20k range after climbout and im praying to see some bombers at 15-10k if i do ill get one or two of them then continue on my merry way. usualy one if the guy sees me or can gun.
odds are 4 out of ten the guy cant gun or dont see me.
worth it most of the time.

NOE missions are fast, surprising, and cause map changes.  I like them from an offensive and defensive standpoint.   The fact they are popular forces map situational awarness for those wanting to keep bases.  Base takers & savers are into the strategy part of the game so I think NOE raids make it more interesting for all.

Most NOE mission have guys that pop above 200 occasionally.  It's fun to catch these little dar bars and find a bunch of heavy planes on the deck ripe for the killing.

My high alt Jug missions work alright. Not NOE, definitely advertised to those enemies that are patient and observant enough to track and intercept our darbar, usually provoking a fight at any point, win or lose.
