Dear Mr Hitech......

PLEASE change the collision model message from "You have collided" and "Player X has collided with you" to "A collision has been detected on your PC" and "A collision has been detected on Player x's PC"

PPL are just to stupid/ignorant to get it.....

Please HT Please I just cant take any more collision threads....


P.S. If you can see you way to do this I will finally pull my finger out and write chapter 10...... I mean you want to know if Fluffy is ok dont you..... :)

To paraphrase HT from some other ancient discussion, they'll believe what they want to, regardless of anything he says, or any messages in the game. There is no way to win- if there's no message, people complain about no ping kills. If there's a message, they complain about the collision model.

I think adding collision and ram to the text filter is about the best he could manage. Of course, then people would complain about not being able to complain, and he would still suffer the consequences of people trying to occupy space currently occupied by something else, and angered by the fact that they cannot.

The easiest thing to do is to just turn off collisions altogether. Until the laws of physics are repealed and a bad ping is less than a millisecond or two and everyone's connection is warp-free, accurately seeing the same collision on both front ends just isn't going happen. Sure it's gamey, but AH is a game and it will sure cut down on the whinage from players who haven't yet found the ON switch for their brain pans.

Collisions On, HOs actual and cried about are readily available, even with the risk of a collision.

BUT ONLY ONE PLAYER IS ACTUALLY INVOLVED IN A COLLISION AND HE DOES TAKE DAMAGE....

No the easiest thing to do is not to allow yourself to get TOO CLOSE.  Have you though about the stupidity that would ensue with collisions turned off? No longer will we have to aim, just squeeze the trigger and fly through em. I'm sure those lumbering buff drivers will just love that feature.
Now if people would remember it is a game and except the fact they aren't perfect, things would be ok.

Ohh and 99% of the whine about collisions are from the people who see the "You have collided.". They assume its the other guy who caused it.

Yes I'm serious there is no way to win a collision. Think you need to think about it.
Tell me whats to decide on who "wins a collision"
