Hap... how am I an alarmist? I ask for no power and don't ask anyone to do much of anything except mind their own business.
The global warming alarmists aren't minding their own business... the latest figures on "how much it will cost" are in the trillions... they say this will be offset by the money saved by not having the temp go up one degree.
If they want to add $1.50 in tax to every gallon of gas... adding maybe $3,000 a year to each families expenses... that will simply go to politicians... i
How many would then like to see them explain the science of how co2 will cause catastrophic warming then?
No one is saying much now but it I know Americans... you hit em with that kind of expense you bet the real "deniers" will come out.
If republicans stay in power.. we will do little or nothing and the earth will, in a few years go into a natural cooling period.
If democrats take the white house... we will all take a big hit and then we will go into a natural cooling cycle but.. we won't be able to afford heating oil.
If it gets too cool.. the scientists will call it man made global cooling and blame co2 for the drop in temp..
The models they have model about 11 things.. probly 7 of which they know very little about. their whole theory of man made global warming rests on... "we can't make the model match the temp unless we crank up the man made part" ... it is most likely just a phase... can't do anything about the weather.. but.. if it is unusual.. it it most likely the fact that some of natures climate change elements are reacting differently with each other than some other time.. the only constant is change.
You don't just say that co2 is the only thing when first of all.. the math doesn't work and second of all.. you don't understand all the other things you have ruled out.
It is not bad science.. it is non science... no science is discussed at these conferences. Just politics. power and money.
I want to see a conference with the best minds on the side of MMGW and the best minds that say it is BS hashing it out.
