Liberal pansies are claiming some power owing to generations of "responsibility ducking yuppies".

Americans have embraced the idea in stride, putting the title at No. 244 on the Web retailer's book-sales chart as of midday Thursday.

But in Britain, the constantly hysterical press added the book onto its ever-growing pile of Things That Threaten Society.

did ya read it?

"Lego is set to turn slightly more sinister with the launch of an unofficial book that teaches children how to make weapons out of the iconic plastic bricks," warned London's Evening Standard.

ok, my bad non-american press is involved, but either way it is a really stupid thing to make the news, and a really stupid thing for anyone to get their panties in a bunch over.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Seriously, what has become of this country? :huh

When I was just a 5 year old boy back in 1959, my parents bought me a matched pair of Roy Rodgers pistols, together with a nice holster.   That Christmas I also got a toy Winchester Model 73 rifle, that could be loaded with toy bullets.   The metal case of the "ammo" contained a spring in it.   You then snapped a plastic bullet into the top of the case.   When the hammer of the gun struck the case, that then was enough to dislodge the bullet, and th spring then propelled it out the barrel.

And on top of all of that, I also got a full cowboy suit to wear, complete with hat and boots.

In any event, just look at how I have now ended up!

In contrast, when I got my son a Winchester 73 toy rifle for Christmas at about the same age, my ex-wife threw the toy out after only two weeks, because she said that he was shooting people with it.   His toy did not even actually fire anything, too.

I do have a hunting friend who is older than I who told me a story once about  how his parents absolutely abhorred guns, and how they never let him have any toy guns to play with.   Not even a squirt gun.  So he went around pretending that he had a gun while playing with other boys, either just using his hand, or sometimes holding a long piece of wood or metal.

Once he graduated from Medical school, and was no longer financially reliant on his parents at all, he then proceeded to buy all of the guns that he wanted.  He now is a very knowledgeable Deer hunter ( he has bagged a deer almost every season for over 40 years ), and a more than average shot with a handgun too.  He ended up becoming a Republican, and is even a member of the JPFO.

He is now retired from psychiatry, and no longer works with the mentally ill and disturbed.

trust me I have. I have actually spent time with our former Governer Tommy Thompson, he's been to my familys for dinner... my stepfather has been in politics for over 20 years, and we are solid Republican. in the past every time the gun stuff came up in the state the Dems voted it down before it got anywhere, and since that POS Doyle got in he has vowed to veto any gun legistlation that helps gun owners.

he's a true arsehat.

The book will be on sale until the first 6 year old shoots the eye out of his 4 year old sister after building the gun from the book his granddad gave him for Christmas.

Lego will be sued for millions.

The book publisher will be sued for millions.

The store that sold the book will be sued for millions.

The mall the store was in will be sued for millions.

And the lawyers will have that much more money to clog up the after 12AM SciFi advertsising space with Class Action Victim solicitations.

We are so doomed.
