You don't burn through ammo so fast with two guns.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather come up against a LA-7 rather than a spit, but maybe thats just because I've seen soooo many spits lately...

But neither are you doing as much damage. Snap shots are important for the La-7. The three-gun package is even lighter than the older two-gun.

Ditto. Not because Ive seen so many Spits... but I consider the La7 an easier target all-around. Especially since many of the planes I fly can turn inside an La7, but I can only outturn Spixteens and Spit 9's in my 109F...

A-hog, D-hog, 1-hog  can out turn them if you know what you are doing.

I know there are planes that out turn the La. I asked Motherland what planes he flies.

If I see an La7(s) in a furball.. all things being equal among my victims:

Most of the time I get into a turnfight with an La its either a 109F or a 109G2. The 109G2 has a slightly larger turn radius than the La7 but this is not normally a problem as La pilots usually suck.

Edit: BTW, its pretty fun taking on Spit 9's in the Freidrich, since it actually turns inside the Spit 9 (w/o flaps), and on the deck the Freidrich is actually faster on WEP.

About a month after the 109s were re-introduced, I flew a series of about 15 duels with Timppa (he was using his shade account). I flew the 109F, he tried just about everything else. La-7? It lost. Spit9? Ditto. The 109F won every fight, taking only minor hits on a quick reverse with an FM-2. It eventually ran the Wildcat out of E and pounded it. Every fighter he tried was unable to beat the 109F starting with a Co-E merge.

In a similar case, I dueled 2bighorn (under one of his numerous shades), him flying an La-7, I had a 109G-2. This was a long, long fight. The 109G-2 prevailed, but only by refusing to turn right except in a few instances. In a left-hand turn, the 109G-2 out-turns La-7. In right-hand turns, the La-7 is slightly better. At low speeds with flaps out, 109s simply refuse to roll to the right. So, I avoided that trap. Indeed, I found it much faster to roll 270 degrees left, rather than 90 degrees right. So, when I did turn right, I rolled left to do it. Sounds odd, but it was effective.

We also dueled La-7 vs Spit14. Again, this was a very even fight. That is, until the Spitfire ran out of WEP. At that point, the La-7 gained the edge and the Spit was in trouble.

On another occasion, we dueled 109F vs Niki. Another close fight, but the Niki was slightly superior.

In a duel with DMONSLYR's F4U, the 109F completely dominated the Corsair. It did so because it's simply better in the vertical. Once the F4U has its flaps out, the 109F just takes the fight up, using spiral climbs, where it hovers over the F4U, never allowing it to extend and build speed. DMONSLYR did as well as anyone else could have. The 109F just excels at this type of fight.

Over all, the 109F is one of the best dogfighters in the plane set, and the 109G-2 isn't very far behind.

Ok. I though when you said "many" you actually meant more than the 109F.
