Nice work!! Thank you for sharing

I dunno how you can type with the keyboard behind the stick...you hafta be hitting it when you are talkin.

I think the Keyboard should move down to where the stick is, be able to slide out onto your lap.... and have the stick on your right side... like the way the F-16 cockpit is modelled....

I think if I was going to go to the effort, I would do this slightly differently...

I would have extended the stick from the gimbal, mounting the gimbal and box on the floor the use about a 24 inch piece of wood or something to extend up from the floor and then re-attach the original stick handle to the top..

In this way you would get the longer throw of a WWII fighter's actual stick and would gain a lot of precision movement in the stick...

Of course, I don't know if a Saito stick is analog internals... If its digital that wouldn't go very well... I know with my CH analog guts it would work great.

Anyhow, great work on that chair, I wish I had one! (except with the stick mod I described :D)

I think if I was going to use an unmodified stick as you did here, I would have set it up 'side-stick' like a modern fighter so the throw would feel more natural.

Neat chair.
I have to second the opinion about side mounting the stick.  At least for myself anyway that is more comfortable.

X-52 is digital..so the stick mod wouldnt go so well. But cool set up.:aok
Ive been thinking of doing something like that using a seat out of a car and some sort of frame/rack type thing.
I havent got it all planned out yet. TrackIR is a must for it though!

thanks for input..... im considering this as a moc up.... the stick position seems to be the important part to everyone..... i never really considered it.
ihave aways flown with center stick position. thinking things through im now planing to make all/most pieces adjustable, like stick for instance will swing on lockable arm that can reach most comon positions. that would keep with the style of chair & its many locking adjustable components. i can get an endless suply of stainless steal rods tubing plates ect. from work.

just a matter of desining at this point.

ty 4 input all
