hey guys, he was just asking a question, atleast he's not an irritating squeaker...

H2H was a LOT of fun, some of the rooms were great. benny's rooms kazaa had awesome maps with no ack, historic matchups, windage, everything, it was great, we had some really fun fights in there. it was a nice place to find good fights very quickly.

"Those things" didn't exist but "other things" did exist.

This is your defense of "your" h2h?

I guess those "other things" were "more better" in your opinion.

There is NO reason that HiTeck, et al. couldn't enable HTH 8 player for those that "subscribe". Some people (like myself) enjoy hosting.  I've hosted a quake server for more that 3 years...keeps a lot of kids off the street.

As far as the complaints about the tone of the "free 8 player"..well from what I've seen the "online arenas" are no different, with the exception of the TA.

I do hereby cast my vote to enable the HTH 8 player side of the game..AT LEAST FOR THE PAYING CUSTOMERS! :furious

The handful of times I jumped into H2H rooms, I had a lot of fun.  Total dweebery, but fun.

(edit -> Re-reading what I posted in light of some of the later events in H2H, that could be taken the wrong way.  I mean dweebery in the "Aluminum waterfall - up as soon as you die and hunt the guy who killed you" sense, not the "someone twiddling with things they shouldn't have" sense. )

Benny, you might want to re-edit your last post - unless I'm badly mistaken, if you think it through, you'll realize that you're most likely setting yourself up to be skuzzified.

He's not a winner really he's just a loser, whereas everyone else just suffers due to an idiot.  Many privileges students had before and during my high school career were lost in the same manner.  Some jerk off abused it and the rest of us suffer.  These people are only popular in their own heads, everyone despises them.

Just don't consider him a winner, even if he thinks he won.  Because he lost just like everyone else.  He just happens to be the biggest loser.

Yes, I suppose you're right.  Thanks.  Although, I must say that as matters stand and look to remain, my banishment probably wouldn't matter a great deal to anyone, myself included.

I'm glad I saw it in time before deleting...

I always wondered who was to blame, and what exactly they were doing.

A lot of great free-for-all rooms. The fights were literally happening right over the field, so you didn't have to fly anywhere to start having fun. Vulching and BNZ'ing was generally looked down on, and since the host had the power to boot people, vulchers and BNZ'ers were generally booted from the room.

You could manipulate ammo and fuel, so you could conceivably take off and fight without ever running out of ammo and fuel. Not very realistic, but it sure cut out a lot of downtime.

It was a good place to go and find a quick fight if you got tired of the usual MA dweebery; or if you just didn't feel like climbing up to 10k and flying for 10 minutes before you found a fight.

Of course, all this assumes that you had a good host. TA57, Merlin, acmkraft (Domin), and Police (I think that's what his name was) all usually had pretty good rooms going.

Edit:

Team rooms sucked, though. They usually consisted of the host stacking the teams in his/her favor and then clubbing whatever baby seals happened to be on the other team.
