What is the minimum that must be down at a vehicle base before the troops will run?

My favourite way of taking a vbase on the ground is to take an M8 and M3.

Get the crazier of the two of you to take the M8  he flanks around the outside gets adjacent to the vbase.  The M3 pulls up to the map room side and stays out for awhile.

The crazy man takes out the first ack from afar and proceeds to drive up across the base.  Pops the soft gun whilst driving full speed, hauls it around to the remaining gun on the map room side.  Whilst he is doing this the M3 drives up and gets close to the map room.

The M8 proceeds to camp the main spawn to harass anyone who may come out.  Speed is the main priority and just hope no-one comes in with a tank ;)
