Okay ~ emo. goth. whatever. As far as clothing goes:

As an old lady, how I determine what is acceptable (cool) and what is dorky when considering which clothing to buy. Is there an emo (I keep trying to say 'emu') fashion guru around?

*edit* in particular, I'm going to buy a jacket for a male, age 16.  I want it to be one that he actually wears without dying of embarassment. What jacket should I be looking for?

I'd make a suggestion, TexMom, but I have the same issues' with my 12 year oldest son. He's not into Goth, I think he tends' more to the skater/surf punk side, And I know that the Goth kids' tend to be pretty picky about their wardrobe.

*shrugs* I don't care what he wears ~ as long as it keeps him from getting sick.  Manners don't originate from his clothing, and he's got great manners.
