trouble with builders.....
« on: January 24, 2008, 08:21:25 AM »
Ok, my poxy landlord is having the loft converted into a flat, had some builders in since beginning of December.

At the rear of this house is a lane and a large double gate which allows me to park my bike (ZX-10R) in the back garden away from theiving little scumbags.  These builders have been parking two vans in this lane, sometimes making it difficult to get past (my turning circle is.....um.....big), now the foreman they've had has been a pleasent fella, always been happy to shift a van if I need to get the bike out (every morning).

yesterday they got a new foreman who'd parked his van right in the turning circle I need.  So 8am yesterday morning I wander out to go to work and spot this van, say to the fella

"Could you shift your van forward about....oh 8ft should do it.  thx"

Him:  "Why?"

me:  "Cos I dont have the turning circle to get past"

Him: "Your talking about a ****ing bike aren't you?"

me:  "yeah, my turning circle is here to London....."

Him: "Well thats just ****ing riduculous"

me: "look, I'm not gonna argue with you, just move the van please.  AND DONT ****ING SWEAR AT ME AT THIS TIME IN THE MORNING ****"

And he moves the van.

Tosser.

Anyway, I get home for lunch break 10 minutes ago and they've left a large concrete block blocking the back gate.  The red mist comes down, I pick this block up and throw it as far as I can doing my best impression of the hulk when this tosser comes out the back gate looking furious that I've moved his block.

Queue slagging match which ends with me telling him if he leaves anymore obstacles in my way he'll be wearing them. Possibly internally.

Lessee what happens next......

I would'nt have tossed but put it on the van's roof or something. You usualy stand better chances of having the last word if you keep your cool til the guy really goes over the top.  Then you sock him when he doesn't expect it, much better effect that way.  IMO.
If he gets all winded up he might feel righteous and put up a fight instead of stfu.

Well, it's 4:30am in Britain. No post by Swoop. I suppose he's been beat to a pulp with his tail pipe by no less than 4 construction workers. ;)

Must be Eastern European turning up on the job at that time of the morning. That's T-4 hrs for your average British builder.
