The New Rambo Movie is Really Gory and Bloody

Just saw it this afternoon.   Was surprised how extremely violent and gory it was.

Is my memory failing me?   Were the other Rambo movies as bloody in their violence?   It has been a long time since I saw any of them.  It seemed like Rambo killed people in just about every way that is imaginable in the new movie.

I never go to any slasher type horror movies, so maybe this level of gore is now normal for movies these days.   Perhaps Stallone felt he needed to update his film for today's market.

The ending was the same, though.   Rambo lives, the bad guys all die.

The old Rambo movies were violent, but not gory.  If I had some money I'd head out to see it.  We've had a streak of very girly "Action" movies recently.  I'm glad to see that Stallone has broken it.

overkill gore on a new level and i only saw the trailer where he turned a truck-mounted 40mm AA gun on the driver 2 feet away. awesome.

Like so many other movie franchises, that first Rambo was so damn good.  I'll still watch it if I come across it channel surfing.

Damn right, I'm the same, I can't tell you how many times I've come across First Blood on cable and just had to sit there and watch the whole thing.

talk "gore" is sounds like the new AVP movie.

from the previews it looked damn gory.

The Rambo series sucked because I had the misfortune of reading the book first (First Blood). The movie (what else is new?) was a complete disappointment.

I think I'll start watching the movies first THEN read the books.

Well Saving Private Ryan was rather "gory" but that seemed to make it more authentic.

That can work, although sometimes a movie is more satisfying than its book, e.g., Jaws.

Apollo 13 was like that.  Although dramatically different, the book was good, albeit rather dry.  The movie was good, yet a completely different in the "drama" between the astromauts, etc.

When it was released, First Blood was considered to be quite violent and gory.
