B-25 tried to hurt sherman with his howi in the nose, well see sheman can play big guns too.

some of the better tank drivers have done the same to me in the past, mostly using the M8.

do i qualify as an LTAR yet?

I've done this myself once or twice, it's always fun when you take out a plane with the main gun, you know they never saw it coming.

Last month I was defending a vbase solo against a small group that kept running in 110s to try to track/kill my Shermy so they could run in an M-3. I think I got a total of 13 kills against them with the main gun. You would think after the first 4-6 kills, they would have gotten wise.

very lucky shot more like, ty.

i actualy fired at the B25 then changed back to drivers seat instantly. then i got a kill. i had to go and look at the film to believe it.

was this type of thing ever done in real life? the sherman's gun has incredible elevation to work with.

Wow! 1.5K out with a gv? Nice Shot! I've gotten Bombers coming into our CV from 4.0K out with the QUAD 40mm's once, and a P-47 3.0K out with the back 40mm.

Yeah, somewhere around here I have a translation of a Russian tanker's memoirs. He was in Lend-lease Shermans as it happens.

He tells of one of his platoon tanks shooting down a German bomber with the main gun. They had elevated the front of the tanks on a slope.

If he was telling the truth, it did happen.

brilliant, thanks toad. wow...maniacs. i bet they would have to dig the back of the tank out of the ground after a few shots.

that beats this one latrobe. i have never hit anything with the quads40mm in my life. i like the 5 inch guns tho.

i did once hit Ghi from 2.0k with an osti vs Me163.

I shot a B25 from 2.5K out in a sherman once, coming right at me...he whined and whined on 200.

its easy in a sherman because the sight is soooo big. way harder in a t34

amazingly yes, going full speed. thats why i 'fired-and-forgot' then didnt see the hit as i changed to driver view. one shot fired as a joke really, one hit.

I shot down an F4U that came to close to my shore battery once. He never saw it coming.

Upped a tiger once just as the base I was on got captured. Got tracked just off the base and as I was sitting at that odd elevation a 110 came into view as he began his attack run. I fired at 1.2k, he died from an AP round on the nose. By the time they finished me off several 110's had died to my main gun, not to mention a couple of panzers and a few M8's. Had a blast, real shame I forgot to roll film.
