if i was you i would consider rossi-puma. their winchester 92 replicas have a reputation of being well made as well as being affordable. they are very popular with cas shooters in nz. i have never used one but i recently checked out the stainless .454 casull 20" barrelled version in a gun shop and was impressed by the slick action. it was noticeably smother than my slicked-up winchester 94, and the rossi can be made even slicker yet by someone competent enough to work on them.
there's plenty of choices in handgun calibres( including .45colt) with the rossi plus three barrel lengths.. 16" 20" and a 24" octagonal barrel, with most of them available in either blued or stainless steel.
http://www.ampro.co.nz/products/rossi/rossi.htmhttp://www.legacysports.com/products/puma/index.htmlalthough it's not really applicable to cas, another plus with the rossi 92 is the strength of the 92's action. it's much stronger than the contemporary winchester 94 action for instance. it has to be, to handle the .454's 60,000psi+ chamber pressure. I have heard of the rossi 92 in .45 colt loaded and used safely past the pressure point that would be to much for the .44mag winchester 94.
