Right up to this fine point in his career when he lost all credibility, thanks to Bush. Atleast he had the sense to leave when he did.

young voters...the number of them who actually vote makes them virtually irrelevant.

One positive note about Obama, he is not Hillary.

Jury is out, but I can't support the dude.  He just doesn't have the experience, and his history is too liberal.

So, with it looking like Hillary or Obama versus McCain, I think I will have to go with McCain.

Why do so many presidential elections turn out to be a case of voting for the lesser of the evils?

well dred.. that is a great idea..  problem is.. you are not the first to think of it..

Lots of tyrants have singled out one or a group and said "everyone else is cool but this guy/these people are evil and we must eradicate them"

problem is..  you then have to get rid of all the people who come to may aid or criticize what you are doing.

You don't strike me as a particularly tolerant type so you would just blow it.

Hey. no need to bring your kid into it.
You did say ALL the people who would support you right? LOL

Actually I am pretty tolerent.
Even with my kids I encourage them to have their own points of view even if it differs from mine.

But speak for yourself.
Your not exactly the epitomy of tolerence yourself.
That whole glass houses and stones thing

Truth of the matter is.
I just wan to see YOU beaten and tortured...Just because I think it would be fun.
Nobody else..just you.
:D

well hell.. no need to get elected to make that happen.. just hunt me down and do it yourself.  no need to get all green and indigestion faced about it.

Just out of curiosity tho..  How far away from your point of view do your kids have to get before you wish them beaten and tortured?

I don't get it.. I don't wish to see you beaten or tortured..  although...  I will admit that I wouldn't mind seeing you try to do it to me which.. come to think of it..  would amount to the same thing.

Back on topic-

It's fascinating what a spouse can do for a campaign / individual.   Michelle Obama is very impressive when you watch her on the news... i'm with the op, i like her a lot too.

Lets face it... Laura is the best thing going for the current administration-

All of this makes me wonder how Bill has influenced the perception of Hillary-

Far as they like. And they have.
Each has points of views that differ greatly from mine

My only demand is they speak to me in a respectful tone when they do it.
Just as would be expected of them if they were speaking in public to someone.

My son learned that lesson the hard way a few months ago.
We were debating the differences between the greatest generation and todays generation.
My arguement was other then those serving, todays generation cant hold a candle to the civilians of WWII.
His arguement was there is no difference.
After going o back anfd forth for a while I pointed to the computer and said.
"Ok show me something to prove it."

Instead of doing that he started attacking me personally and not my position verbally. which is usually what happens when someone cant back theor arguement.
Larger problem was he was doing it in a very derogratory and disrespectful manner.
End result was him getting knocked on his arse and me reminding him that I was still his father and not one of his college buddies.
It was only the second time in the last 10 years I've raised my hand to him.
thelast time being the time him and his friends were making molitov cocktails in the scchoolyard a block from here when he was 11.

As for you and me. I was only playing with you because I knew what your reaction would be.

You would have done the same thing.
But I agree it would probably amount to the same thing as Its hard to argue with the end of a gun. And I dont own a gun so..

You don't own a gun?

Then you have no opinion.. none that you can back up.

You don't have a gun?   you don't have anything.  you are just lucky you haven't found that out yet.

One of my favorite lines from a movie  "right? wrong?  who cares.. I'm the guy with the gun."
