On the very rare occasion I land with an undamaged aircraft and cannot get a new one (FH's down) I'll go to the rearm pad. Usually out of habit I'll try to put it down on the numbers (or where they should be :lol ) and most of the time I stop well short of half way. Then using full rudder and appropriate brake I'll spin around and taxy back to the pad, all 'round a pretty quick trip. IIRC the use of rearm pads are a common feature in FSO's.

In a worst case scenario you land and stop (which i usually don't) mid-runway.  Then it takes what?  20 seconds to taxi to the pad?  It already seems pretty convenient to me.

Maybe if you just tried locking your tail wheel and using a little more throttle you'de be ok with it as it is.
