Yeah! I like the pizza map too!

Flyin low through the canyons to attack V bases.

Great dogfighting in those canyons too!!

Had to keep an eye out for those walls.

Every now and then you would see some patient soul who had climbed up the wall in a gv shootin DOWN at the planes below.

Mama Mia, thats a spicey map!!

Well that's where we are different, in a WW2 based sim I expect terrain to atleast resemble parts of earth. Pizza was with out doubt the worst example of this and overall the design was terrible along with the patchy brown terrain.

Many are glad that map was pulled and never wish to see it enter rotation again.

Old Pizza was a decent map, not my favorite, but was OK. I would love to see it back. Mainly because I want more map variaty than eveything else. I would rather have HT make us more maps then add more planes. But that's just me.

I think the one with all the long, deep running canyons was kinda cool. With a lot of the vehicle bases on the canyon bottoms. Actually Ive developed a liking for the bigger maps.

It would be nice for all maps to get new tiles.  I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw 'Mesa'.  It's like we were back in the 80s with those wireframe sci-fi graphics...

I always hated the old pizza map. It was way to bright and hard on the eyes imo. I just didn't play while that map was in rotation. Old Pizza map is the only map I have refused to play on.

The PIzza map had a lot of really neat features.

The trenches.. where GVs fought in their own little world.

Air base altitudes ranging from sea level to 10k.

The outter ring of GV bases.

What tarnished it from the get-go is that it's first exposure lasted for, like, a month.  People got tired of it.  Having been accustomed to map changes every few days, having the same one around for awhile got on some folks nerves.

Personally, I don't care for the desert. The dry and desolate scenery just wore me out.  I like trees and water.  I always thought that if they just redid the pizza map with trees and grass, life would be good.

I would like to see it come back.  I bet you could launch a jeep a good spell off the side of one of those cliffs...

I liked the map that had a small lake in the middle that was triangular shaped. It had 1 rook, 1 knight, 1 bishop airbase on the side of it. and Vehicle bases in between, god it was really fun and it was always like constant furballing and gving. I loved it!! Anyone else remember that map?? Thats what i want back in the game but i never see it anymore.

That's what I liked about it.........the outter crust......big time GV fites.  Launching a sector  (or more) away to come support.  Lots of good land and air fites.

Good map IMO.

Pizza was a lot of fun. There was every kind of fight going on it. CV battles at all those islands in between the "pizza slices". Desert terrain, was a fun break from the "green" we have all the time. The AKs put a lot of time and effort into that one, and I think for the most part people enjoyed it.

I remeber all the fun I had on it back in AH1 the great cannion fights trying to make your opponent run into the walls. :lol   The GV battles in the bottom of them and even trying to sneak a goon through or over the top to snag a base..

I'm probably just wishing and it may never happen but a guy can hope right. I close with this small tribute to pizza to Oh where oh where could my baby be . :)

Oh where oh where could my Pizza be
HiTech took it away from me
It's out of rotation now but if we're good
Maybe it'll be back befor I leave this world

I was up for a flight in my 38
I hadn't flown very far
There in a cannion
Straight ahead
A plane was HOing spraying lead
I couldn't stop
So I pulled up tight
I'll never forget the sound that night
The screamin engines
The blazing guns
The angry words that I read last.

Oh where oh where could my Pizza be
HiTech took it away from me
It's out of rotation now but if we're good
Maybe it'll be back befor I leave this world

When I came to
I was was falling down
The enemy plane had smacked the ground
Warm sweat falling into my eyes
But some how I pulled out of the stall that night
I lifted the nose
Checked my damage and said
Hold togeather just a little while
I nursed her home
Smoking all the way
I found the runway I almost had missed
one gear was gone
the controlls were feeling tight
I slid to a stop, missing parts that night

Oh where oh where could my Pizza be
HiTech took it away from me
It's out of rotation now but if we're good
Maybe it'll be back befor I leave this world

Ya know after working on it the last part of the song sounds like a landing by Guppy  :D

I don't want to be Johnny Raincloud or anything but if it was anything like the pizza map i was flying on a couple of months ago... good ridance.... but it was a nice song/poem. I'd rather read the poem for 3 days then spend three days trying to win that pizza map.

Nice picture but unfortunetly the graphic textures in Pizza didn't allow for anything at all like that and was difficult on the eyes no matter what the resolution or monitor. From alt it looked like a terrible quilt.... Then again that's a problem with all maps...  :(
