A tribute to PIZZA map.

After being stuck on Pinwheel map (don't recall the real name) for ages as it seems to actually get reset only every once in a great long while I find my thoughts turning tward Pizza map.

 I remeber all the fun I had on it back in AH1 the great cannion fights trying to make your opponent run into the walls. :lol   The GV battles in the bottom of them and even trying to sneak a goon through or over the top to snag a base..

 I'm probably just wishing and it may never happen but a guy can hope right. I close with this small tribute to pizza to Oh where oh where could my baby be . :)

I was up for a flight in my 38
I hadn't flown very far
There in a cannion
Straight ahead
A plane was HOing spraying lead
I couldn't stop
So I pulled up tight
I'll never forget the sound that night
The screamin engines
The blazing guns
The angry words that I read last.

Oh where oh where could my Pizza be
HiTech took it away from me
It's out of rotation now but if we're good
Maybe it'll be back befor I leave this world

When I came to
I was was falling down
The enemy plane had smacked the ground
Warm sweat falling into my eyes
But some how I pulled out of the stall that night
I lifted the nose
Checked my damage and said
Hold togeather just a little while
I nursed her home
Smoking all the way
I found the runway I almost had missed
one gear was gone
the controlls were feeling tight
I slid to a stop, missing parts that night

Oh where oh where could my Pizza be
HiTech took it away from me
It's out of rotation now but if we're good
Maybe it'll be back befor I leave this world



  Ya know after working on it the last part of the song sounds like a landing by Guppy  :D

The high plains of Pizza were places where the Ta-152 and Spit XIV were actually in their element.  Of course, if it came back they'd need to get rid of the rocks of death :)

You know there is the "new" pizza map but I have not seen it in ages!  Was it taken out of rotation?
I too loved the old pizza map.  Memories....

I never saw the old pizza map, but the new one wasn't anything great, I'd like to see the old one some day in rotation.

What's the map with V85 on it in the SE corner.  You know the one where it has spawns from V88 (to the south) and V76 (to the north).  V85 is on a noodleula and their are airfields just over a sector away and ports about 2-3 sectors away.  Some of the best fights I have had in a long time have been in and around V85.

Having said that the map is a big one but most of the the fights I see are focused right at this point.

That's a fun map.

You guys have to be kidding? Pizza map was the ugliest and most unrealistic map ever to be presented. Good map for X-Wing's simulating the canyons of Mars, not a WW2 aircraft based sim.

^-- that's how I feel about the current one. It's stupid.

It's a highly exaggerated cartoon representation of unrealistic land mass shapes in a game that's trying to represent things in a realistic light.


It's like playing COD4 and entering a room that looks straight out of Team Fortress 2.

  I don't give a crap if they wern't totally realistic, some of the most fun I've had in AH was fighing people in those tall cannions. 1 screw up and it's the wall for you lol...
