« on: February 16, 2008, 04:55:38 PM »
Well everyone is demanding new planes and tanks......
I would like the M-26 to be in the game...... or even the older shermans
Perhaps the Churchill tank....
but I WANT THE M-26 IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!

There are many tanks that should be added before the M26.  It saw very little service.

There were only 300 ME-163s produced and they shot down all of 9 aircraft. In fact they probably killed more German pilots flying them then Allied bomber crews. As far as I know there were only two instances of Comet "groups" "more then two" engaging Allied bombers.

It was an utter failure as a weapons system and had as minute a role in the war as an aircraft possibly could. So a pretty good argument could be made for the M-26 Pershing and that it qualifies. Most of all when you see dozens of comets upping to slash an HQ raid to ribbons. If 30% of them blew up on takeoff then it would be realistic.

The Pershing did actually see combat and did inflict casualties. Tho there are other tanks I'd rather see instead.

None of which makes the M26 a priority addition.

Well i also insisted other tanks but still

Maybe the M-26 could like unperk the firefly i guess, if we got the M-26 as like the American "tiger" perk wise (i guess) we could also put in the King Tiger....though im not too much into supporting the king tiger as a gv in ah2. Also, what about the Churchill tank??? Or the older sherman, the M-4a3 not the firefly....... and....BRING THE PANTHER TANK IN AHII!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh no more uber late war tanks, we need EW/MW tanks!!!! PanzerIII, M3 Grant, M3 Stuart, CrusaderIII, Puma, CharB and stuff like that.

I'm tired of these large heavy tanks that can kill anything in one shot and that are so slow. I want more torch tanks!!!!

More AA platforms, and more planes. This isn't WW2OL, and with the moderately retarded GV model, it would be a waste of time to model additional tanks that don't act like tanks.

Well i like gving at places like tank town...... I never get too much of a choice of tanks that I want to drive..... Plus I dont think the M-4a3 was a late war tank, and if it was just put in the earlier shermans....... But still, the germans shouldnt have all the high perked planes and tanks if anything.........

There are 2 perked tanks- 1 British modified M4, and 1 German Tiger. Hardly "all the perked tanks". The Germans have 3 perked planes- 1 jet fighter, 1 jet bomber, 1 rocket fighter. The Brits have 2 perked fighters (both prop jobs), and the Americans have 2 perked fighters, which means the Allies have more perked planes than the Germans. Again, hardly "all the perked planes".

The ground game in AH is a waste. A sideshow of absolutely unrealistic tactics and vehicle models.

Here is a photo of a M26 Pershing taken at North Korea's famous "Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum" in Pyongyang.

The caption reads thus:

Captured Imperialist America Heavy Army Tank, Model M26

Taken January 1951 by hero soldiers of the People's Army of Korea.  After the great Imperialist invasion, the third counterattack liberated Seoul a second time.   American butchers cowardly fleeing the city in this tank were destroyed.

If you want to learn more about the museum, there is an official North Korean Government film about it that you can view on YouTube here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftFFH4M-nJo

The video shows some Russian made airplanes at the museum, which were used by the North Koreans.   Apparently the Russians gave them quite a few of their old WWII Yak planes to use in the war.

Well, they aren't twin engined jets. I don't think it's reasonable to expect some ordnance carrying prop planes to be perked as heavily as a jet fighter. Think about that for a minute.

lol love how they make themselfs look like heros. Your talking about a country that lies to its people, and keeps them locked in their country, with no internet, no tv, no phones, or other technology to allow them to contact the out side world.

Authoritarian governments always make their soldiers out to be heroes and the enemy to be vile without any redeeming qualities.  Makes control of the populace easier.
