Quite true. Fortunately for me, one can't "drain away" what one has never had in the first place. :D

adonai was a squadie of mine once, and he always struck me as someone who was never liked as a child. He always bragged on himself and never would help you if it meant that he may get shot up.
Bat on the other hand has always been a blast to play the game with, and has my utmost respect.

Lot of talk about "reputations" and "character" in game, means nothing to me.  The only thing I get from how people act ingame, is how they like to play games.

For instance, you have those like Adonia, who like to always have the advantage of being able to get away either vert or extending,  so that they can always be the one who "wins", or at least doesn't "lose".  Those types are the prevelant types in the MA for the ones who haven't learned/mastered acm's, yet want to be one of  the big dogs.  Only problem is, you will never be a big dog unless you lay your ego on the line and actually fight!

I do think Adonia needs to duel some good folks, so he can graduate tardom and enter geekdom with the rest of us!

And once you get to talk to Mark, you forget about the "Skyrock" character and ignore the 200 stuff from him because it's just his 'schtick' and doesn't mean anything.  You also realize that over time, the "Schtick' shows up less and less, as most folks enjoy talking to and flying against Mark who no longer has an excuse for every time he's lost a fight, and is comfortable in his own skin as a cartoon pilot and who prefers the challenge of the fight over trying to convince everyone he's the greatest ever :)

So Mark, you and I won't ever agree on that one :)

Their are several very good sticks in the game that constantly talk stupid on CH 200. Just because thier good at this Game means nothing to me, when they act like little Nancy Girls crying about what ever.

I actually deleted something about how I "used" to talk a lot of trash on 200, but I'm not sure I have totally given it up....it is sooo fun to be bad sometimes! hee hee:aok

I could care less how a person plays the game. Its how that person conducts themselves as a human being in game that means anything to me.Getting mad at a person in game would be like getting mad at oh lets say channel 43 for not having a show on that I like.

Adonai's name in the original Hebrew, with translation...

Clever, if you ask me. Adonai is an ok guy. I generally ignore an in-game persona, as it doesn't always reflect the actual person, but their Walter Mitty alter-ego. With some of us, what you see is what you get. With others, the persona is part of the game.

Interesting, Widewing.

I've seen it translated as "Lord of Armies" or "Lord of the Host." (EDIT: Checked around a little, and found I remembered incorrectly. Adonai itself was a substitute for the unpronounceable name of God, YHWH -- since traditionally it was considered sinful to speak the Name itself. Not being quite so picky, Christians threw some vowels in and transliterated YHWH into Yehovah, or Jehovah. While I thought Adonai itself meant "Lord of Hosts," that term was "Adonai Sabaoth." That should fulfill our daily quota for trivia, I'd think.)

However, back to the player -- I don't think he planned any deep meaning here. On first bumping into Adonai in the MA I made a comment about the handle, but it turns out he thought it meant something completely different. As I recall, he didn't even have the originating language right, much less the meaning.
