I may have gone to elementary school with Stevie Ray.

"Vaughan was born at 05:13 am on saturday, October 3, 1954 in Dallas, Texas and was raised in the city's Oak Cliff neighborhood."

I was born on Sept 7, 1954 and lived in Oak Cliff until I was 12.

I've missed him since the morning of August 27, 1990.  I got the news from Kurt Loder.  I'll never forget it.  My all-time favorite artist of any genre.

Iron, Stevie was born in Oak Cliff but spent most of his childhood moving around the south as his father took whatever job he could find.  I think he settled back in Oak Cliff by the time Stevie was 10 or 12 years old.

Rip, if you don't own that DVD you should get at the first chance you have.  Probably the best single performance I've seen of Stevie and I've seen and heard tons.

You would think that such a huge fan would at least know how to spell the dude's name correctly.

It would seem obvious to most folks that his finger slipped off the "N" button, preventing it from going down far enough

Back to thread: "Jesus Christ! I mean Stevie Ray Vaughan is dead, and we can't get Jon Bon Jovi in a helicopter. Come on, folks. "Get on that helicopter John. Shut the **** up and get on that helicopter! There's a hair dresser in there. Yeah, go ahead in there, yeah yeah."

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Bottle of what Rip? Spill it.
