You Could'nt Do That Today

I was driving by the age of 14.  Had this beat up Dodge Swinger that would die every time I turned left due to a mech. problem from a previous accident (not mine hehe).  Had to make right turns until I was able to get it fixed.

Used to hunt with my bros and friends unsupervised and we'd pepper each other from a distance with our shotguns.

Was great fun to run around this set of canyons near my house with BB guns playing war, I'm glad no one lost an eye.  I never heard of eye protection.

Things I would never let my own kids do.

I used to drive loaders for my dad John Deers, Kabato's, International what ever he had at the time. Drove several of his dump trucks around the yard and on some jobsites, but mostly did stemwall grades and house grades when I was about 13.

crok it.. yet.. you think that socialism and nanny state are the way to go?   What?  we were superior beings decades ago or what?

Do you believe people have devolved?   How can this be?  we have become far more liberal and public schools have gotten more and more power.   Abortions are on demand and marriage is just a suggestion.   families have less kids and both parents work.. everyone has new cars and ipods and computers and big screen TV's with cable.   It keeps kids busy and off the street.

My neighbor says he made only $35 a week as a truck driver when he was 18.   Then he walked into a recording studio and cut a '45... whatever that is, and says he made a fortune in the recording business.  He says he even made a movie or two, before he decided to fake his death and move to Oregon.
