I just checked the Squad scores and ranks and they are working fine.  Make sure you are not using a saved link, as the link changed for all the score/rank pages.  Refresh your browser as well, just in case you are hitting a cached link.

Donations are accepted at HTC   :devil

They go up automatically with "post counts" on the message boards.

The more posts you have, the higher your member rank is on the bulletin board. Just like in-game rank, it doesn't mean a thing.
And please don't just posts in threads with nothing to add just to up your "rank" as I said, it's useless.

Search is a bit messed up. At least when searching in topic subjects only.

For example I'm looking for an old thread of mine called " Stats, Stats, Stats! A year of AH2." http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,223633.0.html

Searching for "year" or "Stats" in topic subjects only does not give me a single result when giving the user name "Lusche" as a search parameter.
Even more surprising, searching for "year" or "stats" alone in topic subject without giving any user name does result in only three hits, neither of them being the above post I was actually looking for. In fact, all three given results are all in Oclub  only, despite "all boards" being checked as a search option.

I am going to look into this when I get a chance.  I suspect it has to do with the conversion from the old board and the search index not being built completely for it.

Ok, slowly but surely.

Fixed the moderator page.  It had a bug that did not properly remove Basic moderators, but did not show them as still active either.  That is now fixed.

On searches, I have found the issue causing the problems with searches and should have that fixed when we move the board to its new home.

At that time, I will do a mass update of the locally embedded links to change them so they will all work.  At least, that is the plan.

I've not been reading the boards here for months, since there has been
no scenario activity. In any case, I seem to recall thaqt when I read a thread
the thread title changed colors, just as a 'followed link' does in my browsers.

Now, all the headers are the same color with no indication of the threads
thqat I may have read and was attempting to follow.

I just changed my 'theme' to what looks like the old format, alas no difference
in the way headers are displayed except Skuzzys' 'stcky' threads are now the
same boring light blue as all the rest.

If this is your first visit since we changed the board, at some point, you will want to hit the "Mark All Read" button at the top or bottom of the main forum listings.

This forum does a much better job of tracking what you have actually read.  Any posts added to a thread after you read them will have a "new" icon attached to the thread, and cleared after you read the thread.

The old board used a simply timer.  Once it expired, all the threads in a forum got marked read, whether you read them or not.

I'm aware of the 'Mark All Read' option and as far as the cutsey little "New" icon,
that is of absolutely NO use when I'm trying to find threads I have been following.
One USED to be able to simply visually scan the headers and those threads that
you had read would have a different hue that those that you haven't read and
could care less about regardless of how many "New" thingies there are.

The only way I can ID the threads I have been following now is to figuratively
'lift my leg' and 'mark' them by cluttering up the thread with a useless post
so that the little folder thingy shows I've been there....

The 'old way' was, IMO, a far better method, as is generally the case with most
things these days. Newer and flashier and more whiz-bang widgets isn't necessarily
the best way to go....

Well if you mark all the post as "read", then the only ones that have updates will be the ones with the "new" icon on them. Seems pretty easy to me. The main title icons (the HTC symbol)  are lite after an update to that section is made, but I only look at a few of the mains and a couple of private sections so its pretty easy to keep track.

You are missing the whole point I'm trying to make here.

I could care less if a thread I am not interested in is marked "New".

I would like to be able to filter out all the threads I am NOT reading, at a glance,
by having their headers change shade....as do followed 'links' in all browsers
and most forum boards that haven't succumbed to the 'gotta have the latest'
craze and have glitzy bells and whistles at the cost of practicality.

Frankly, I do not read that many threads here and I just would like not to have to
scan a page of headers for the few that I am reading.

Having a 'new' icon doesn't tell me that that thread is one I have been following.
I can tell from the last message stats ( person, time/date ) when there is a new
entry in a thread I am interested in. I don't need the redundant 'new' icon.
Replace the freaking code that tracks and displays 'new' with code that shows
a link has been previously followed. It ain't rocket science and it IS of practical
use. Something todays developers seem to have lost track of.....

Repost here:

I want to use my Samsung HLN507W DLP HDTV as a computer monitor.

I have it hooked up to the DVI input on the DLP.  I can run everything on the computer (including 3dmark06) and no problems...resoluti on is 1280x760.   The Nvidia 8800GT card recognizes the DLP in the setup.

The problem is that when I click on the AHII icon to start, a white window appears...then I get "aceshigh.exe failed to start blah blah blah.... Send error report to Microsoft?"   I put my NEC Multisync 950E CRT on the box and it starts fine.  However, I noticed that the CRT goes through some gyration and clicks off then back on with the game.   Is AHII trying to send a signal to the Monitor?   On 3dmark06, it pops up a "scanning system setup" for the CPU tests and then rescales the DLP to 800x600 but only for those tests.  And it runs them fine.

Anyone...any ideas?

Skuzzy can you include the old syntax too, before the forums moved to forums.hitechcreations.com  from  hitechcreations.com/forums ?
