Pentagon: KBR Poisioning Our Troops
« on: March 09, 2008, 01:11:05 PM »
You blew it off as "Amerihater" bs when I talked about this over a year ago. Now, The Pentagon will release a report that says the same things I told you. KBR  was providing unsafe water to our troops.

http://www.star-telegram.com/466/story/519623.html

Quote
The Defense Department's inspector general's report, which could be released as early as Monday, found water quality problems between March 2004 and February 2006 at three sites run by contractor KBR Inc., and between January 2004 and December 2006 at two military-operated locations.

KBR's water quality "was not maintained in accordance with field water sanitary standards" and the military-run sites "were not performing all required quality control tests."

"Water suppliers exposed U.S. forces to unmonitored and potentially unsafe water," at the military sites by late 2006, the report said.

Tell me again how great KBR is.

May be that there isn't a KBR fanclub.

Wait... did you mean the Bush/Cheney fanclub?

p.s. I enjoyed checking out the south40 from your www link . may even post sometime :)
p.p.s. I put another post in the iditarod thread answering your question. If you'd like the book (I've got a copy) send a PM.

No, Mom. I mean the group that was calling BS when I first reported this. They seemed to think since it was KBR, it HAD to be safe and anyone saying different was an Amerihater. I'll see if I can find the original thread.

p.s. Thanks, Mom!

Hey Rpm :)

Honestly, I read that article and it sounds to me like a pretty minor issue and it has been corrected. When looking at your original link, all kinds of allegations where being levied. And now, this is all that anyone has come up with?

Also, I noticed how the article brought up Cheney three times, even though he has nothing whatsoever to do with this.

unmonitored and potentially unsafe water supplied by the military and a contractor once owned by Vice President Dick Cheney's former company,

Halliburton is the oil services conglomerate that Cheney once led. Congressional Democrats long have complained that KBR has benefited from its former ties to Cheney.

What exactly is the issue?

Nuke, have you seen the documentary? It's some pretty blatant stuff the contractors were/are doing. I'm actually surprised that something was done this fast. Hopefully they will investigate the other things, too.

And yeah, I do have it in for Cheney. But if you honestly think he's not pulling strings for KBR, yer froot loops.

What's the issue? The issue is a company is screwing us and getting away with it. They are overcharging, putting our troops in unnessessary danger and covering it up when they are caught red handed. There is no accountability.

I'd chalk it up as a victory, RPM. Either that, or nobody's biting because it's not a direct attack on the GOP.

Bzzzzt! WRONG!!!
Most of the troops that got sick did not drink the water. It was water used to wash clothes or for toilets. Nonpotable water.
