Actual "Water" Properties
« on: March 12, 2008, 05:17:13 PM »
I'm Sure This Has Been Brought Up Before, However I Would Like To Devote A Topic. I Would Really Like To See Water, Rather Than Blue Land, Y'Know?

Like When You Hit Water, You Instantly Flip Backwards, The Cockpit Fills With Water, Hydraulic Systems Fail, And You Start To Sink...

... However It'd Probably Bring Water Bugs And We All Know There's Gonna Be Some Smacktard Who What's To Play "Submaween" With His P-40.

But Overall I Think It Would Be A Great Concept To Work On, However Combat Tour Seems A Tad More Appealing!   :furious

I definitely would enjoy better water, and I'm certain its on the way. Hitech already said he wanted to add submarines to the game, and the only way to do that is to make water tiles which you can submerge into.

You dont need water properties to have submarines. If someone starts a thread I could explain it but I wont hijack this one.

You'd need water properties to allow realistic crashes...

Which I'd love to see. Kin to the Dark Blue World movie clip of the Spitfire shoving its nose into the water as its wingtip clips the water's surface.

There is a boxed game called battle stations midway.  I gave it a shot just to see some eye candy.

If you load the submarine missions I would love HTC to pay off the Hungarians (give them a few euros and maybe a new horse and cart)  that made it and somehow incorporate that water, the swell and we can have a beautiful ocean to play with.

But of course im dreaming, not going to happen in a MMO game for a few years yet, until we all have uber machines and connections!

goto google images and type in battle stations midway water effects

I have absolutely NO idea what it takes for "coading" for the game, but I have already seen water graphics that are almost "real".

If you are ever chasing a con out over the water & firing....film it & look at it back later.  They have the water splashes of the rounds hitting the water (on dirt on land too), and the water coming off the back of a speeding PT?  Awesome.

Your request would be cool to see as well.

Maybe when you ditch in water, HiTech can jump up behind you and dump a bucket of water on your head?

 :)

One thing that would absolutely guarantee a 10 page whine would be a swell.
Could you imagine the carnage that would ensue from the first week of accurately modelled water from dweebs trying to land on a rolling carrier deck?
 :rofl
Oh man if we do get it I'm bringing some deck chairs and beers to park myself on a carrier for a while.
I really really hope we do! :devil

BTW The socalled water splashes are just animations. If you look at it right they look identical to land impacts with different colors.

I dont know tho....if a large wave came at the right time I would get swamped alot in low alt fights. :D

I can see it now.....rogue wave!
