Shhh.  I'm ignoring you.  And exagerating.  It *sounded* like you wanted him banned, and that's enough truth for me to twist it into supporting my argument.  Plus I'm being an adult and ignoring you.  So there!  pppbbbbrhththththtth!  :)

Ahhh ok, please continue. ;)

Well for the record Im for the ignore list. Im not comfortable with rat'ing people out no matter what they say either here or in the game comms. The only exception to that rule would be a game cheater. I would rat them out in a heartbeat. But for everything else?? Its just easier to ignore.

In choosing to ignore problem posters you also remove your vote as to whether or not an ignore list is a good thing or a bad thing.

Interesting perspective eagl.  Always good to have other perspectives.  Posters on the board do not bother me, unless they break the forum posting rules.  I have not ruled out the possibility of the ignore list feature, but some of the posts in this thread who are trying to argue for it are also, arguing against it without realizing it.

I think there needs to be some settle time before making any more sweeping changes.  There are some things happening on the board which indicate a downward turn in the interaction of the people here.  I am concerned about it.

Isn't that what you did? On the old board we had the ignore feature. You "changed" that option on the new board. Wouldn't just be simpler to keep things the way they were and not make any "sweeping changes"?

I liked the ignore feature. There are some people here who are just annoying. They are not disrespectful, they are not offensive, they are just ignorant and annoying and the ability to not even have to see the stupid things they write was a nice feature.

Exactly.  That is why there needs to be some settle time before doing it again.  Right now there is a bit of relenting going on, which is to be expected.  Just need that to settle down a bit so one can differentiate the chaff from the target.

Starting to sound more like a jet game than a WW2 game. Looks like Skuzzy is getting a radar lock and soon we'll hear "Fox3!" and a rapid ejection sequence as his target goes down in flames......  :O

Boy you lost me on that one Skuzzy. What Im saying is its not my place to police anything here and/or rat anyone out for what they say here or in the comms. I'd rather use the ignore list. And one way or another my vote doesnt really mean all that much anyways.

Wes14 now that weve met I can tell you Ive never had more then 1/2 dozen on ignore. And that aint bad for a community that numbers in the thousands. Out of all those thousands there are about 3 or 4 I'd have on perma-squelch in the game if I could. Again, that aint bad.

There seems to be somebad blood between some members in this game. I would suspect a fair amount of the complaints and rat'ing out stems from these personal vendettas. Just look at that thread about Vans and his 190?? My God this is just a game people.

Ugh. Please bring back the ignore list. It's like a personalized method of community beautification.

The only person I put on ignore was Beet1e. He was also the only person I was ever glad to see go PNG.

All the rest who went PNG I just wished they could have kept within the rules of the board.

While I do trust you Skuzzy to keep the riff raff out, I would also like the option to ignore folks if I felt it was needed. Like that Arado987324632876453 dude with all his l33tsp34k, I too find that annoying.

*edit* Just a thought, maybe l33tspe4k could get edited out under Rule 16?  :rock

I must be thick skinned.. I have never had anyone on ignore.

If you had someone on ignore... wouldn't you have to see what they said when someone quoted them?

As for not seeing things you don't want to see..   I don't get that either.  If I see a thread about nissan or toyota ptr or whatever they are..  I just don't bother to look at it.

I don't open sports threads or some others cause they simply don't interest me.. they don't make me angry.

I dunno.Having the ignore option just seems to me like sticking your fingers in your ears....or eyes in this case and going lalalalalalalalalalala. You will still see quoted text. That being said,I dont see an issue with turning it on as an option.I wouldnt use it.
