Nice work.
I've seen the ... thing (for lack of a better term) on the front of the scout car before, what is it? A roller with springs?
Once again on the scout car, on the interior shots, I count 4 gearshifts and one lever. What are they all for? I can account for 2 shifters (transmission and transfer case) and perhaps the lever (parking brake?) but the other 2 have me stumped.
Is that mud on the tires of the scout car or is that the way it is supposed to look?
Coshy,
the in the roller on the front is a "ditch spanner". If the vehicle goes into a ditch where the nose digs in, it hits the roller which rolls and allows the vehicle to continue forward.
the interior shots are of the halftracks interior. The levers are as follows from left to right...
Winch operating lever, parking brake, gear shift, tranny speed (high or low), front wheel drive engage.
the stuff on the tires is minor mud from racing around in a field.
Barrett,
The vehicles are in Colorado and will be going into a museum here.
