AI bailed early on me too. No oil hit, no cockpit hit even. I put a good burst into his tail, did not see any parts fly off, and poof out comes the chute almost instantly.

Even if there was maybe elevator or stab damage that I didn't see, would be nice if there was a delay before the AI pilot bailed IMMEDIATELY, simulating moving the controls, feeling that parts are missing, then jumping.

And I dont know what you guys are talking about that early bailing is like real MA pilots. Most of the time in the MA I see people riding their wingless cigars to the turf, or no stablizer nikis spraying the whole way down. The only people it seems who bail early are the better sticks who realize immediately when critical damage has been taken.

The AI is a little chickenpoop. He punched out on me at about 20' doing about 200mph. Good luck with that jump, deadman.

Not MA pilots, real life pilots, like the ones (AI) we'll meet in CT.

So, can we finally say it? Real CT pilots! :)

I agree.  It is more like real life ,if I was getting shot up and could not avoid it I would get out.
Strip  as i did yesterday when you spanked me  and asked why I bailed. I did not have enough parts left to evade you much less fight.
BTW  :salute I had fun fighting you.

I think AI bailing from a functional plane is proof that HTC is going the extra mile to replicate human behavior in the MA.

Nope, behavior in the MA is a flaming zeke continues to fly for 5 mins while racking up 2 more kills.

Looking at my film from my fights with the AI last night, I compared it to gun camera footage I've seen, and the similarities are very striking indeed.

You get a good solid hit on the guy, take some controls away, maybe throw a fuel/oil leak in there, he starts to wobble a bit, then you see him jump out.

No sense in continuing on with a crate that'll more then likely fall apart or lose control after a high-g maneuver.  Better to bail and live to fight another day.

Looks very, very good for CT.

Decided to try the practice and the first run I took him out fairly easily.Second he created separation out to about 3K and then started a slow turn back.I got a high deflection shot on him.Didnt even see him and dont believe I got more than maby 1 or 2 rounds in him at best but he bailed. When I turned back around the plane was in a tail down drop and the meatbomb was otw down.I dove straight down and filled his chute with so much lead he can use his donut for a pencil. Then I planted the nose.Doesnt seem to hard for someone whos flown the 51 some. For new guys this is just great. Its gonna learn em a few thangs right quick one can hope.

Flew against the AI today, was moderately impressed.  Seems to understand the scissors really well.  Didn't seem to answer to a strong vertical move...in fact, on one instance, there might've been an MA pilot in it... the nose dropped and he tried to run!  Went 3 for 3 against AI... the last fight was pretty crazy, though i was only shootin with 2 .50 cals just for fun. AI got a quick solution in one scissors and actually scored hits.  AI ended up bailing after taking elevator hits.

Funny... in only one of the three hops, the AI attempted to HO, even though I gave it to him every time just to see what it would do.

I tried out the new AI just a few minutes ago and for anyone without good throttle control he might be a little tough.

When we got into scissors I put a good burst on his engine with an oil hit. Shorty there after I scored another descent hit and was moving in for a kill shot when he bailed. What was wierd was his plane was in good working order other than trailing oil smoke. His plane continued on for a good 30 seconds flying in a roughly ballistic path. This poked holes in my original theory that because of a visual bug I couldn't see the damage. The only other theory I have came up with is I pilot wounded him.

Why would he bail?

I went back and tried it a few more times.....same thing oil hit and he bailed twice! The third time I didnt even give him a oil hit and he bailed. All 4 times not a single piece fell off his plane.

Did they give me a leftover bish pilot?

Correction, did they give you a rook Bomb and Bailer? Seems to happen to us bish all the time now.

No to classify as a "bomb and bail" he must first drop something (other than himself) and miss the target by at least 100 yards while taking no damage.

This guy will take a few pings first so I still think he a bish.  :devil

Im having a different experience.  AI is good, but after I kilt him first time, it wont gimme vectors or that automatic HO anymore...I gotta find him myself.  When I do find him we cross paths a lil, my computer freezes and he disapears???

I had a strange encounter with AI, too. We fought all the way to the deck, then, while we were scissoring there, I found myself warped near the airport, with system giving me directions for landing. I checked the tape I recorded and the Pony AI didn't auger nor bailed: at one time, simply, while we were fighting, I was taken to warp to the field, no sign of AI on the map, landing was all that was left to do.

I'll send the .ahf to HTC, so they can check. But after Easter, the guys deserve some vacation! :)
