Disagree with you on lame eye candy in IL-2, Vans. Unfortunately, Il-2 is like your stereotypical blonde-joke secretary: Fun to look at and take out on a romp now and then, but nothing going on between the ears to make her company worthwhile.

I agree. If you like red orchestra so much quit this game and stop spamming the BBS with it. HTC makes the graphics look the way they do so they can appeal to people that don't have the best computers or the best video cards. He's thinking about the gamers , not the lame eye candy of R.O or IL2 that apples to only a certain amount of people.

I've taken a look at some of the the hi-res screen shots on site. IMO, in addition to being the best-thought out and engineered combat flight-sim, the planes look pretty darn sweet for anybody with the system to run at high settings.

The hedge-rows and windmills and what have you also look good, a little variety in color might make the terrain a little more pleasant and not hit the system requirements too much...some muddied battlefields, yellow wheat, grey crags, snow-covered peaks, that sort of thing.

I have never played R.O but I would LOVE to have AH with that level of detail... Better graphics with great gameplay = great immersion... You guys need to quit jumping down everyones throat when they ask for real improvements... get out of 1998.

1: frame rate would suck, not many people have a really good video card
2: they would have to up monthly fee to pay for it.

I agre with you on that. And yes this would be nice to have graphics like that. But I dont think that my computer can run that. I have a good 1 1/2 year old dell laptop set up to play games, and still that would be to much.

Now if they mad the jump over to consoles (XBox, PS3 Wii) then you could have that quality. But I dont see that happening any time soon. But maybe one day.....

Aces High is first and formost a flight combat game.  You cannot have ground detail like that in a flight combat game on today's consumer computers and still have a useful view range.

Pretty much agree. That being said, you'd be hard pressed to find a better tank experience than RO, inf for that matter as well. We have a full server 2 times a week, and it never seems to get old. Lost of fun for 20 bucks. YMMV
