So, anyhow, the ACLU responded to the school w/ a 'Nowwaittaminute...' and I've provided the link.  Dunno if anyone has read it, thought I imagine quite a few have (and have been silent because acknowledging it goes against their preconceived notions).

I read it.

Our Founding Fathers were Christians and knew large organized churches did not represent God.  That is why we have a separation between Church and State.  Our Founders didn't want the unelected having control over our lives.

If God is so great.... Why must we fear it?

Respect possibly.  Fear?

American Heritage Dictionary

Fear
n.
1.
    a.   A feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger.
    b.   A state or condition marked by this feeling: living in fear.
2.   A feeling of disquiet or apprehension: a fear of looking foolish.
3.   Extreme reverence or awe, as toward a supreme power.
4.   A reason for dread or apprehension: Being alone is my greatest fear.

#3 When the King James Bible was written, fear was synonymous with respect.  So you are right, we should not be afraid of God but rather respect Him.
Do not attribute to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence, fear, ignorance or stupidity, because there are millions more garden variety idiots walking around in the world than there are blackhearted Machiavellis.

I just read it and I applaud them sending the letter.

Now we will wait and see if anything changes and they pursue the matter.

He's a scarey dude. I fear his wrath, for sure. I'll save that for another thread though.  :)

I guess so much for being a benevolant God.
