Join Requests
« on: April 11, 2008, 08:43:43 AM »
This may have been brought up in a previous post, but it needs reinforcing.

STOP all the join requests without asking the person beforehand that you want to join.  Nothing I hate worse than when I am in a furball and I get shot down because a join request is covering the screen.  :furious  It has been happening 4-5 times a night and is getting very frustrating.  Please be a little more curteous and ask over the range or country channel.  If you don't hear from me, it is not that I am ignoring you.  I may be in a fight or soemthing else.  Thank you for reading this rant.

considering most join requests come from players in thier 1st hours/days of playing chances are they know nothing about BB either & will never see your post!  :rofl

1 point i wanna make is this.....

i get quite a few join requests in buffer which does not effect my play, only it seems everytime im in a fight the old style request window pops up. whats up with that HT if buffer requests was/seemed to be an upgrade why is there still the odd old window style still rearing its fustrating face?

I understand that many of them may never make it here.  Hopefully a few will.  I would like to see the request in the buffer as well.  Have gotten most of them there but as of late I get that popup box.  Definately could be changed.

Type .showjoin 0 into the text bar. Do this in all arenas you fly in.

I would also like a command that allows you to kick someone out of you plane/vehicle. There is nothing worse than being in a bomber and some one joins your plane, and they wont leave and waste all of your ammo.

I am in agreement, you shoudl be able to eject someone from your plane.  I have stopped accepting join requests for my bombers unless I know the person.  Had one guy just shooting to shoot the guns, wasted all my tail gunner ammo.  Wanted to draw my .45 and take care of him myself.

I agree I have bunches too...and it always seems to be when I'm in a big fight. I wish there was a way to stop it when its unwanted!!!

It happens when you switch between LW arenas sometimes. You can notice it because there are no message in buffer after log on in this case.

I still get the occasional pop-up join request too.  I'm not sure why it doesn't save 100% of the time (maybe loses the showjoin 0 with a new patch?).  Anyway, as soon as you log on there will be a message in the text buffer telling you that join requests will be in the text buffer if showjoin 0 is active.  If the message isn't there, just type in the dot command and your good to go.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

This happened to me last night.  Four requests in 20 seconds from the same guy, in the middle of a dogfight.

I would have started a new thread, but I saw this one existed so I bumped it.

.showjoin 0 may fix the problem --- but imo the game should remember my preference every time I log in, until I change it.
