I can see it now. Maps with dams and multiple strats to flood. Almost kinda like having nukes. The gnashing and wailing would be intolerable. Almost enough to make me an advocate. But not quite. Again ..... no dam busting in Spain. That's the country south of France. The time .... 1938. Uberbipes, faster than most of the bombers then .... and there. A dogfighter paradise.I'm sorry .... I've deviated to something that might be a tad bit more practical yet still a hard sale to pitch.
Just for the record, I believe these were also referred to as "Bouncing Bettys".
bouncing bettys are land mines. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-mine
When the brithish invented this bomb for destroying german dambs they soon used it to take out ships as well, this bomb is a bomb shaped like a can and contains a large amount of explosives when droped at low alt it would skip across the sea until it hit its targets or sunk. You may thinkthis would make it too easy to kill cvs but remember, a slow and big lancaster at low alt woul be vonerable to fighters and anti-air.
